It was something that arrived borne aloft by a choir of manly men. It's coming foretold by a drunken cat-collecting ruffian. This. The world's cheapest, and some say best, bugle.

@bikkies
@bikkies 3 жыл бұрын
@@potatus6542 How did the spiral compare with the levels of asymmetric brilliance on display here? I can understand the desire to construct one's own instrument in the style of Trent's. An homage, if you will. A Tribute. However I don't think any mere mortal would ever be able to duplicate this unique moment in musical manufacturing history. I have an SAI echo cornet that I've been contemplating flinging repeatedly into a brick wall followed by driving over it with my car. Sadly, though these efforts would dramatically improve the playability, tonality and odour of that "cornet", I fear the result would remain amateur in comparison to this one.

@bikkies
@bikkies 3 жыл бұрын
@@potatus6542 I thought not. This is artistry to which we can only aspire. Joking aside though, I cringe in pain at your story. In my teens I dropped my trombone. Just a basic student-grade Blessing tenor trombone, way before the days of triggers and F attachments, but still. It was my first ever instrument that I'd purchased for myself, while still an impoverished student. It landed on the end denting the tuning slide rather than the bell, and didn't affect the usability of the slide, but I was still gutted. I never managed to get it repaired and it remained as a battle scar for the rest of its life.

Greetings Trent! After reading your DIRE WARNING about the highly nonexistent quality of this instrument, I just knew I had to order one for myself! I can confirm that this bugle not only astounds but in fact exceeds all expectations of shoddy. The price, of course, has gone up slightly over the last six years, but I can vouchsafe that the quality of this instrument has not risen one iota! In fact, if anything I would say that the makers have made great strides in ensuring that materials and craftsmanship are reduced whilst quality control remains nonexistent. In fact, unlike your example, mine includes several quite festive bits of sharp metal around the mouthpiece receiver, a distinct lack of solder, AND several rather fun and decorative areas where the craftsman had apparently practiced his cheese grating technique on the various segments of tubing, giving the instrument the appearance of a julienned carrot. Like yours, the pitted metal of the bell has been enhanced with dents and cracks. I was somewhat disappointed that the surface of the metal was not rough, but was ecstatic to note that the instrument does not feature a tuning slide. I think this avant garde feature should be incorporated into more musical instrument designs. After all, we've had a good five centuries or so of in tune classical music. I think it's time we broke the mold and let everyone choose their own tuning. All in all, I am so glad you brought this fine quality pseudo-bugle to the public's attention!
