It looks very good on that Redcat Chassis. I have several of my RCs mounted on Redcat 8 gen Chassis. and it's not that expensive. Excellent Project Brother. By the way, that RC4WD 1987 Toyota XtraCab Hard Body just arrived. I see that we have the same tastes... A big hug...👍💯

Heck yeah brother! I've got Gen8 mounts for Mojave 4 door, and Xtracab, they both fit really well on it. I set the body a little higher on the Gen8 to clear the big shock towers under the hood. I've even got K10 Scottsdale mounts for the Gen8. Thanks for writing👍

My project now is RC4WD Chevrolet K10 body on Ascent Fusion. Project is in the stage "where do I get more money :)", since I blew up most of RC budget on Ascent itself.

I agree with you. Paint and I are not friends. What can go wrong will go wrong when it comes to me and paint. There is another great electric screw driver called the... Wow stick. I've had mine a couple years now and works great for small projects.

I used a black paint marker and painted the inside of the bed that we had to cut out for the shocks and it looks even better... Walmart has some really good paint markers in the arts and crafts section they are also fine tip and larger tip paint markers... 🔥 🔥 🔥

You do some absolutely well thought, supremely finished quality ideas and parts. I was on a journey to replicate a 70 gmc crew cab, but have moved onto a 92 chevy ģ20 LWB NON conversion top van. My goal, is to do a EXTREMELY scale overland interior, and try to get into RC driver MAG BEFORE everything becomes digital. Have you ever considered the world moving vans? Your truck work is great, we need more vans as well! Keep up the fantastic and detailed meticulous work!❤❤❤

Thank you! I have been looking hard at the cross RCWT4, which looks a lot like an International 4700. I’m not 100% sure what I would want to build with it but I find it interesting because it’s a true 1:10 apparently, unlike the common 1:14 for “big” trucks.

@shrinkrc the rear chassis is slightly shorter, the holes do not line up with your rear, and the rear of the chassis does not dip downward like the original. It continues straight.

@@jasonkarlin2751 The length doesnt matter on the Xtracab, there's no holes in the xtracab bed to line up to. I know the "dip" you are referring to, but I'm wondering if the Fusion rails just don't have as much rise at the shock tower area, and therefore land in the same spot? I'd be surprised if the holes don't line up, since the fusion bumpers are advertised as fitting the standard Ascent. I'll probably wind up buying some Fusion rails so I can settle the matter.

Can you please make a tutorial on fitting the Xtra cab on a TRX4? I have no clue where to trim

The key to TRX4 is to remove the stock battery tray, and remove the upper support between the rear shock towers. Check out my TRX4 videos for Mojave 4 door and Chevy truck. Also check out my Xtracab videos for VS410. Then set the body on there with the interior and see where it hits. Write to me at jesse@shrinkrc.com if you still have questions.

What wheels and hubs you use? I have a set of vp riots wheels with 450 slw hub but i think looks better with 350 or 225 hubs .? Thanks for help!

I usually use the narrowest hubs that I can fit.

I don't remember if the Ascent came with additional posts in the box for the front, but yes posts are usally all you need for lexan bodies.
