I'm suffering this since last year in SPAIN and until now 28 doctors told me "there's no cure but removing the left kidney could help with some symptoms". As many people are saying, the hardest part is to have it diagnosed correctly, since most of the doctors don't even know about it. I found out taking Triglicerids of middle chain halped me a bit. Now waiting for a treatment or procedure but it will take years in Spain apareently...

It's not just back pain to be a symptom, symptoms can also be pressure in the stomach, nausea, vomiting, leg pain, headache, anxiety, depression, flank pain, fatigue, hard to take deep breath. It varies from person to person. Blood in urine is often not present and a venogram is not a good test for diagnosis because it is done laying down and for many the pressure and symptoms are worse when standing up due to gravity.

I was just diagnosed with this and I have all of those symptoms with the exception of depression. Somehow I have managed to stay positive through all of this.

it's proabbly not "extremely rare" but rather "extremely underdiagnosed". i read a study that estimates 1/3 of people with varicocele (of frecuent prevalence) have this syndrom, but that's probably too much.

I believe they are talking about renal auto-transplant. It is also used for folks who have destroyed ureters.

do you have to have blood in urine to do a kidney AT, my nmals vascular surgeon said nothing is wrong with kidney so hes not moving and will most likely stent the lrv. id rather do a bypass and or do external ptfe graft, have you done that?

I feel your pain. I just got diagnosed with nutcrackers and sma syndrome and am also currently seeking a surgeon. I am starting to exhibit some pretty intense symptoms. Good luck I hope everything works out for you!

@@shawnberman1837 it’s been 17 years and they diagnosed me with everything from depression all the way up to the lyme disease. I never gave up and get my surgery date next week . It’s this November. Vascular surgeon that knows he stuff . Also the venogram was the gold standard test they use here in Canada

@@stephaniehuurman2149 Wow it took 17 years?? That's insane. Alot of what I read on it says that its never caught or misdiagnosed. I had to go to the er last week for really bad stomach pain and vomiting and it showed up in the ct scan. apparently It showed up on the last one I had about a year ago except it was never interpreted correctly. Good for you for not giving up and I wish you the best of luck with your surgery.

Surgery increase risk of infections though no pain . My case SMAS shutdown my digestion completely gain weight helps gain regrow the fat pad on small intestine .. as diagnosed recently Superior Mesentery Artry syndrome hopeing for non surgical treatment any suggestions most welcomed

It’s about matter of regenerating the fat cells in between duodenum part of around mesentery Artery’s as well as Aorta the main blood vessels, only ways by doing easily digestible liquid elemental diet like nutricia Fortisib.. or else feeding tube via right chest artery or nose bypassing the Duodenum part of small intestine, surgery has extremely highest risk of chronic gastroenterologist infections and it trigger autoimmune disorder conditions but I really appreciated for your reply ..

Silent Liver and gallbladder failure like blockage in bile duct by gallstone or some blockage in common bile duct could causes all these problem liver can’t release bile acid to duodenum part as result food go undigested causes malabsorption trigger SMAS in my case .. if you getting undigested stool .. silent liver failure go undeducted on traditional blood test and ultra sound .. try “HIDA” scan most advanced liver scan can deduct things which ultra sounds can’t deduct .. MRCP next option .. don’t go for surgery quite dangerous idea ..

well I mean weight gain doesn't always fix it. I have SMAS too and I gained 10 pounds but it didn't fix it. My surgeon said its part of my anatomy because of my Ehlers danlos. so don't get discouraged if you gain weight and it isn't fixed
