2:20 7/11/23. Carolyn, this is my first time commenting. I have watched your videos since 2018 prior to getting my RV. It was you and Bob Wells. If you ever traverse Iowa again, try the NE corner and I have a nice quiet spot for boondocking. Private land, peaceful, wildlife. Would be happy to have you enjoy.

Very cool! I saw the Mississippi River for my 1st time in Iowa! I was on my way from Northern California to Chicago so I didn't have a chance to explore. I had one side trip in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. My niece passed away 15 minutes after I got there. And then I was hurrying to my sister's house outside Chicago because she had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. I stayed at a lot of rest areas. Iowa had some very cool ones! I still had my Houndie then and he was such a trooper about it all. I'm so grateful he was with me! I wouldn't have stopped like I needed to without him. I would love to see that giant truck stop! I did see my 1st one built on the median, though!

Carolyn take care of your health. In this video I could feel your stress from driving so much and the need to make a video even more stressful. The last thing anyone traveling wants to do is to be looking for a place to sleep when your tired and just want to stop for the night. I have fantasized for several years now of van life traveling, but each time I watch a video of someone struggling to find a place to sleep for the night I think maybe this is not what I want to be doing. But instead just take short camping trips and just go stay at a campground. I'm one of those people who plan ahead especially when traveling. Since I started watching van life videos several years ago all the original people I have followed on youtube have dropped out of van life due to burnout or just wanting to settle down in one place. I know you keep your videos real. Stay safe, blessings to you and Sadie.

Its hard when you're so tired you are close to just crying. Finding a place to spend the night is sometimes very challenging. I have a problem not stopping early enough so I end up hitting a wall with emotions and energy. Thank goodness there are still some Walmarts, Cabellas and Dick's Sporting that you can still overnight at if you're in the right area to find them. I've stayd at a lot of road side rests too.

I so relate to the difficulty of finding a sleeping spot at the end of a long tiring driving day. In Arizona and New Mexico and Colorado is always easy for me. Here in California it is always a nightmare. I know you said you never have a problem in California but I always have. Nowadays I take fewer trips as I'm not full timing right now. And I have to plan ahead for our stops due to Dad's issues.

She's a sweetie. She's an older dog. Not looking forward to another loss anytime soon. I enjoy your videos. Watch you hike the PCT. always wanted to hike that trail. I live in WA. On Teout Creek. There's a Trout Lake on Hwy 20 on the way to Colville. Not sure if that is where you were. Thank you for sharing your life. ❤ Kimmer

Cute campground in Iowa. If you ever head to Wisconsin, there's a hidden gem called Devil's Lake State Park. It's so surprising, it's unreal. It's near Baraboo, WI home of the Ringling Brothers Circus World Museum and near the Wisconsin Dells on the Wisconsin River.

I've been to Iowa 80 too, dear Carolyn! Its vastness was amazing - no, gob-smacking! Never seen so many souvenirs, gewgaws, tchotchkes, bric-a-brac, tourist junque, etc. in one place! Ate in the restaurant section which wasn't too bad, considering. Anyway, it was definitely worth a perusal on the way to Chicago.
