Maestro bartender Salvatore Calabrese creates the world's most expensive cocktail -- Salvatore's Legacy -- at his bar at The Playboy Club in Mayfair from 40ml of 1788 Clos de Griffier Vieux Cognac, 20ml of 1770 Kummel Liqueur, 20ml of 1860 Dubb Orange Curacao and two dashes of Angostura Bitters from the 1900s.

I suppose it depends on the Alcohol?, Spirits can last for many, many centuries.......but Liqueurs, like the Kummel are Spirits that have been flavoured with other ingredients (not sure what's in the Kummel?, but Liqueurs can be flavored with fruit, cream, herbs, spices, flowers or nuts and bottled with added sugar), cream wouldn't last long, but perhaps some of these other flavours/ingredients wouldn't stand up to 240 years of existence?..........just a theory............all I know for sure is that insanely expensive alcohol is a scam!

Oh man you can almost taste the salt coming from half these comments. This cocktail is truly a beautiful one. To be able to combine ingredients from a foregone era is such a rare and delightful experience to witness, even from a computer screen. It's literally history in a glass and you'd be hard-pressed to find another cocktail that will be able to compare with it's uniqueness.

Nothing's ever better than a flameing rum shot ,dipped in a himalayan brewed larger beer . Or a sapphire gin and sprite with added blocks of ice,topped off with mint leaves and lemon slices plus a perfectly rolled 100% organic joint is a must . All night any night a blended scotch on the rocks with a cigar or a cigarette smoke. Nothing too fancy or expensive
