If it wasn’t for Noraly, I would have gone to my grave completely ignorant of just how vast and majestic this planet really is. It is literally jaw dropping beautiful beyond words. I have so much respect for this courageous woman. She is actually educating us about the planet that most of us take for granted. Her videos should be required viewing for students. So informative and breathtaking. Thank you Noraly for all your struggles and triumphs and most of all for showing us just how friendly people are in this world.

Noraly in the past has stated she compensates people even when they try to refuse the money. In this case, she really needs a guide providing the logistics. She would not have been able to come this far in the desert without help. There is little infrastructure to support her preferred mode of travel in this part of the world.
@TheVerendus
@TheVerendus Жыл бұрын
@@jepomer Absolutely! I would be forever in debt to whoever helped me get through that desert in one piece. I shudder to think what trouble Noraly could get into in the open desert without a proper guide. She already had a close call before meeting up with Ahmed and was lucky she was close to a settlement; if she would have a bad fall or hit a rock in the middle of nowhere she would be STUCK! Yeah she has the emergency transponder and stuff but then someone would still have to go collect her.

It is really remarkable and wonderful to see Ahmed drive off across seemingly rather featureless desert and wind up where he meant to go! His pickup is also a genuine testament to an important kind of quality that we gearheads always love to see and know more about. Anyway it is so cool that you have met him, trust him, and he can be such a guide. It takes nothing from your own independence and fantastic adventure spirit. And its almost as if we IB followers are getting to know him and see how the local desert people interact and respect each other through his experience, common sense, and demonstrated actions. Just the very best adventure vlog period, you are so good at this and thanks.

Hiring Ahmed was the best decision ever made : he knows the ground like a Fremen on Arrakis and he is as wise as Master Yoda ! There is no shame to go offshore with a competent skipper and better safe than sorry. This geological strange thing is absolutely astonishing and we have to pay tribute to Theodore Monod who conducted many scientific research on the spot and proved to have understood what happened many years before it was considered obvious. Splitting this adventure in several episodes was a great idea : the place and the people who live there deserve it. Fair winds Noraly.

Honda and Toyota make very good vehicles. I haven't owned a honda myself - but a CBF500 was my riding school's bike of choice. Epic episode Noraly! Your strength, resilience and fortitude to endure days of heat and equally unforgiving tough terrains is next level. As are the nomads who survive these unthinkable, hostile conditions. Kudos to Ahmed's steadfast guidance, and his respectful interaction with each of the nomadic communities. This Mauritanian series has been an incredible "eye-opener" amidst the Eye of the Sahara! Thank you for taking us along your journey through a truly wild, untamable part of this magnificent world.

Appreciated the Geologist's commentary on the composition of rocks in the Richat and their relative rates of decay. Assumed from the first overhead view it was an ancient asteroid impact site, but enjoyed hearing about the volcanic bulge that got half eroded. Please imagine we are giving you a collective and appreciative hug with our hopes you will continue this amazing adventure.
