The Batwa are one of the oldest tribe that contibuted to conservation of bwindi national park but lost everything inclunding their laguage .
Most people living near the forested slopes of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest are subsistence farmers, surviving below the poverty line and wholly dependent on agriculture. Change A life Bwindi is helping communities around the parks develop other viable ways of earning a living compatible with conservation objectives through livelihood projects like Bee keeping, cultural conservation, empowerment and Education.
Their Enterprises such as bee keeping, crafts and basketry, have boosted household incomes of the park adjacent
communities mostly to the Reformed Poacher While reducing their dependence on the park, these skills allow for independence and growth in neighboring populations
With their Education program 90% of their students are girls. Why girls / Female child?
Female - child education is a contemporary issue to community in the world because girls/women are usually discriminated against in all spheres of life including education. it is based on this, that this project examines the female - child marginalization and with
unequal access to education compared to male counterpart.
The study reveals that cultural practices serve as hindrance to female-child education and that inaccessibility of the female
education makes vulnerable diseases such as HIV/AIDS,
early marriage, denial of fundamental rights and child labour.
Change A life Bwindi therefore recommends that
education should be made accessible to the female-child at all levels and awareness programme should be mounted to redeem the image of the female-child to make the world a better place.
