The fact is companies are trying to make the market of phones which are larger in size even if it sacrifices user comfort and makes it harder to handle just so that they can increase their profit margin, another harsh truth is the phone which are larger in size are more likely to be damaged easily and also the nature of these phones not providing a good grip makes it a target for being stolen easily.
