He will revitalize sumo, and make it a lil bit bigger. If retired strong man starts invading sumo, I would love to see how they will fair against the super heavy weights. I actually think it's fitting, historically there are sumo wrestlers that's very lean in muscle and less fat, they're quite of an anomaly in the sumo world.

Great video but why is nobody talking about how great of a trainer Steve is? He is the back bone of the team and the way he explains and talks with someone he meets first time is beyond respecful and long forgotten in the marital arts industry. I wish I lived in UK and would gladly join the team just because of Steve. Steve knows his stuff and he is what the saying "with age comes wisdom" represents and should represent.

They really are amazing athletes. They have to make strategy adjustments on-the-fly in a split-second while trying to keep their opponents from doing the same thing. Most of the bouts end in a matter of seconds, but they are INTENSE seconds. There are several sumo channels on KZfaq that play the highlights from the great bashos (tournaments) in Japan; check them out.

I vehemently disagree, I've watched every match for 9 bouts spanning 18 months and the sheer power, speed and control the top brass of Sumo puts into their opponents is no joke. If you told me a Sumo wrestler pushed a truck (4 wheeler not 18 wheeler) aside because it was in the way, i'd believe you. Don't even need to mention which. Aside from Enho Akira I'm sure most professional wrestlers could do it. And Enho can't because he's only 215 lbs and still wins from guys 3 times that weight and a foot taller than him. I want to add because I was incredibly hyped during it, but I watched Terunofuji achieve the highest rank in Sumo live, and man that was truly a match between titans. He went 11-1 for his matches and lost the last to the 69th yokozuna, Hakuho Sho, who's considered the greatest of all time @64366

Strongman is literally the best possible crossover sport to do before getting into sumo. Both are all about moving massive, unstable weights with balance and speed. If he wants it, I don't see anything keeping him from attaining incredible results in sumo. Well....almost anything, there is a kind of super-traditionalist/borderline nationalist element to sumo leagues, but I think that's been improving in the last couple decades.

Competitions for Japan's sumo are tough it can be as difficult as him attaining the world's strongest title. So it would be really interesting if he tried it out. No layman has ever attempted this beside a few influencer meeting retired japanese sumo wrestlers. We've seen MMA face a sumo before but not someone who is active at the Makunouchi division which is a whole another lvl. Right now Eddie just looks like his facing beginners as even their technique seems pretty rough and they are also pretty light if you compare it to the general Japan's sumo stables.
