This week I take out this old, vintage 1990 Ford Apache Motorhome that was abandoned and likely heading to the scrap yard. It was purchased for just £1000 off the side of the road and has now been transformed into a luxury and affordable camper for just £500.

@@WillsWhereabouts Deffo will, you need to rescue an old transit mk 4/5 they're such great vans.. I had a mk 5 transit for three an a half yrs, they're so reliable.. service them pretty regularly and you're good to go! 😊

brilliant!!!!!!! The Dougster gets the Wills Whereabouts treatment. He's deffo looking better now since they started to refurb him and Neil and Em have done an amazing job in bringing Doug back to life. Way to go Urban vanlife!!! As for seeing another build, HELL YEAH! about you doing an Urban vanlife inspired old motorhome renovation. It would make a wicked youtube series. I'm sure Neil and Emma would be cheering you on. I reckon Neil will get this old camper back to a decent standard on the outside. The interior is fantastic. About 10 years ago I bought a Ford Escort van for £300, I never serviced it apart from the odd tyre and window wiper. That van got me all over the country and by the time I had to scrap it, it had over 600,000 miles on it.

It says 26K but how many times has it been round the clock? Could be 126K, 226K, 326K etc

you do know you dont counts the yellow number as that counts from 0-9 and when it gets back to 0 then that's 1 mile so it actually read 260106 which is 26,010.6 miles . once the .6 gets to 0 it will then have done 26,011 miles @@stellaswancounselling

Since May 2023 I have been converting a 2005 LDV Convoy minibus into a camper van. It had been converted previously, but not up to a decent standard, so I took everything out and started from scratch. Working weekends I now have a pull out bed, sink/gas hob unit, fridge cabinet, toilet, storage boxes under the bed, table, a 12v power system and 230v power bank. In have installed a butane gas bottle and pipe work to the gas hob. The furniture is made out of reclaimed wood (some reused from previous build). I have thoroughly enjoyed the project.

Yes Please, more of this kind of thing, Old Van to New Van type of video. I loved Doug, the layout was brilliant, great for a family with small children, can imagine the kids would love being in that space up the ladder and a decent size lounge to sit around the table to eat and play games. Well Done Neil and Emma.

I like Doug,with the reliable old transit engine that'll get you anywhere,you might be deaf when you arrive but you'll get there. He's also like the opposite of a hotel,as most of them look lovely on the outside and then you get a key to the cleaners broom cupboard,whereas Doug's interior is 👌.

Inspiring stuff. The transformation inside is astonishing and the affection for the van really comes through. Doug has seen some stuff but still knows how to look after his guests. Great film. Really enjoyed this one. 👍

Mate love your videos but this one in particular I really enjoyed. It was a really good idea and I loved how rustic the van was. So much character which added to the coziness. Doing a similar van build for something affordable would be even more popular than your old series in my opinion. Very excited! One of my favourite videos in more recent times, took me back to the sheer rawness of the Ford Galaxy days

I do like the renovation on this camper van such an inviting camper van and the microwave oven suites the decor also the clock a very tasteful renovation it would be good to see you renovate a modern classic camper van possibly an interior a little tired but in good mechanical condition as you mentioned it's one of the most comfortable camper vans you have spent a night in in over a year
