In 1999 our family visited the twin towers, not knowing that two years later tragedy will strike. Life could change in a blink of an eye. Let's enjoy life like there is no tomorrow and pray for all that perished in 9/11

@@jacobgrain5380 that's a point I think about all the time. I also think about if they had crashed the airplanes on the lower floors thousands of people would have not been able to escape since they were above the impact zone and the increase weight of the tower would have made the building collapse much much sooner really killing everyone without a chance to escape. I was on top of the South Tower last time back in 1997 when I was 14. Same day my family and I went to see the Ed Sullivan Theater (me and my dad were huge Letterman fans at the time) and I ate lunch and hung out and talked to Rupert Gee, owner and proprietor of the Hello Deli and who I would consider a legend of comedy gold for being one of the first people to "troll" someone. Hilarious stuff and Rupert was SUCH an awesome guy and let me take tons of pictures and told me all these stories. This was before the internet was even a big thing and it was almost surreal to be sitting there talking to him.

2020 is the 19th anniversary of 9/11! It is still an indelible memory for most of us who became aware of this dreadful tragedy from the other side of the world...I am Australian and we woke to this horror unfolding on our news services, on our TV screens....we cried with you, for days! We still do! I am still shocked at this unspeakable act that shocked the world. I also admire the strength and courage of the first responders, they rushed to help while everyone else was trying to escape...naturally!! The 9/11 Memorial Pools are a fitting tribute to all those from many nations, who perished on that terrible day, including from Australia!! My husband and I visited NYC in 2016 and visited the Memorial, we were both very moved by it’s tranquility and serenity and the respect shown by most people!! We will always remember!!

Wow, that is an amazing view. I would have loved to have seen the original Twin Towers. This past year on June 13, 2021 I went to the 103rd floor of Willis Tower AKA Sears Tower in Chicago. I was up 1,353 feet up and cars looked like small toy cars and people looked like small bugs from that height. When looking down I eerily was thinking is this what the people in the Twin Towers from the upper floors were seeing before they fell or jumped to their deaths on 9/11. Absolutely terrifying to think about.

On June 12, 2021 when me and my mom were arriving in Chicago it was pouring down rain and it was so scary driving because you couldn't see the other cars in front of you. It did start cleaning off as evening was setting in. We went to the Hancock Tower on the 94th floor 1,050 feet up. We did the tilt and honestly liked it better than the Willis Tower. The next day when we went to Willis Tower it was sunny and bright with no clouds in sight. It was eerie how it poured rain the day before and the following day the sun was shining bright with not a cloud in sight.

Fascinating to see these shots. I was taken up to the cocktail lounge at Windows on the World for my 35th birthday. I am very much annoyed, however, at having "VTM Productions" smack in the middle of the picture throughout the entire video. That's very selfish. Even TCM puts the logo down in the corner, and then only intermittently. You have come close to ruining an otherwise fascinating glimpse into the past.

that's a long way down. the jumpers had to have been so hot from the fire and choked from the smoke to take that jump. I couldn't bring myself to jump knowing how far it is down unless I was sure it would hurt less than burning alive. probably would now that I think of it. RIP
