Beppu Onsen is a hot spring resort located in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture, and is the collective name for eight hot spring resorts (Hamawaki Onsen, Beppu Onsen, Kamegawa Onsen, Kannawa Onsen, Kankaiji Onsen, Horita Onsen, Shibaseki Onsen, and Myoban Onsen), also known as the "eight Beppu hot springs.
Because of the concentration of eight hot springs, Beppu Onsen boasts the largest volume of hot spring water in Japan, and there are more than 100 public bathhouses in the city, making it truly a spa paradise worthy of being called the best hot spring resort in Japan.
【Beppu Hatto Hot Springs Festival】
The Beppu Hatto Onsen Festival is held every year in early April. During the festival, many public bathhouses are open to the public free of charge, and the shopping streets are crowded with people carrying portable shrines of the Onsen Shrine.
This time, I participated in the 109th Beppu Hatto Hot Springs Festival held in 2023. We recorded the "Yubukkake Matsuri," a strange festival that is the highlight of the festival, as well as scenes of Beppu's hot spring resort area.
