If oops brought our men home alive and safe this is a Monumental tribute to the B-17! I'm a vet and my grandfather was a army veteran from World War 1 & 2 he has pictures B-17 Landing in England with damn near the back tailriders shot off. These Plains and many of the others P-51 P38 corsair's manufactured by American ingenuity and pride kept our veterans alive! The B-17 was one of the finest aircraft ever manufactured to return our honored veterans home alive. Many many thank yous for the workers that developed and produced these great aircraft

Haunting images, thank God this gentleman had the presence of mind to record them. Podington airfield still echoes to the sound of American engines as its a dragstrip now.

It is always amazing to me how governments can react when the rich are about to lose their stash in times of war. Imagine the cost of the war materiel just here on one airbase in one small country. Ten years before they couldn't buy a kid a pair of shoes or give him some little job.

What a ridiculous title. People died in those planes.
