World-Building is definitely an interdisciplinary passion where no changed major is considered wasted time. Biblaridion, a world-building KZfaqr, comes from a similar background, since he was a zoology major and makes videos about fictional creatures alongside his conlanging videos. Before I started using Photoshop, I hand-drew most of my world-building process. Now, I simply scanned them or photographed them to keep electronic copies. Although I now mostly use Photoshop, I always come back to my original hand-drawn progress for inspiration.

Photoshop's cool, but nothing beats the tactile feel and ambient scent of colored pencil :)

i've now discovered i need to learn way more about air and water circulation. i was previously using a guide by artifexian, although now i can see it was very simplified compared to what is possible. i hope i can follow along with the series without my brain exploding from this amount of detail

Thanks for showing your process! It's great to see how you ensure that your world actually scientifically makes sense. I will need to work on this in the editing phase. Seems like a much better idea to do it your way and sort it out before!

This reminds me of my cracked eggshell subdivision of a world oval. I'd draw new lines to subdivide each polygon until I made myself stop, then eyeball each area and guesstimate a rough size in millions of km^2, finally deciding on land or sea
