The Playoffs have started! 🙌The top team from each group goes straight to the quarter finals where as the 2nd and 3rd place teams of each group chase it out in an elimination match! Winner goes through to the quater finals!

Very interesting how Benjamin and Khadil both have their own strengths! So many sports are dominated by tall people and it's refreshing to see a sport where height is not just an asymptotic, one-way street, but an actual factor where it affects strategy in different ways.

Yes! We specifically desinged the Quad to be body type nuetral, So theres always a way for a smaller person to go over an obstacle and a way for a taller person to go over.

Yup - we always try to keep the Quad design body type neutral so it doesn't favour any particular physique.

Yeah, Emile has some very unusual starting positions. I can't remember which match is was but he started under the Sisters once, haven't seen too many people do that.

@@bennpham95 it used to be perceived as low return high risk since, well, it's closer than waiting at tilted box for example. until someone realize, wait, this is a huge barrier with decent escape options

Great match! Loved to see some very aggressive pursuits that paid off. Tired of watching pursuers fail because they don't commit.

01:55 I admire the judges of this sport. I have watched many (most?) of the videos in this channel and so far I agree with all the DTR decisions. In this case, I think Jakub/Czech was just being careful about the tag because it involved Mathieu/Kimeo's foot and we all know that is a serious tripping hazard.

Coming from Czechia, this was hard to watch. Really hoped CZPK would go further in their debut. Even though this would be a great start of an "underdog eventually becoming a champion" story ;) :D Not yet though - as much as I'm rooting for these guys, their current skill level is nowhere near the top WCT athletes (maybe with the exception of David but even he needs way more quad experience).

Isn't it a good idea to accept ONLY clean tags ? If there is doubt this is not a good tag, chaser has to do it as clearly as possible, I believe it would benefit to the sport

I thought that was the rule, and at least on the replays nothing looked clear to me.

That is already the rule. The chaser has to make it as clear as possible that they have the tag for an evasion to be overturned by a DTR. If it's not clear to the DTR ref, then it stays as an evasion, even if the player wants to continue claiming they got it.

Historically, there are examples of women in the main comp (Ashlee on APK Grey in the first USA comp, and Andrea on Overground in this comp,and maybe more I'm forgetting); there was also a women's only match during worlds, and a women's only comp at the most recent USA event, but it's as yet unclear to me whether that was to boost engagement or if the sport is trending towards having separate comps.

@@ori3645 The trajectory is toward women's and open divisions. The women's match at this event was an exhibition match between two teams which had been put together for the event, but I belive that the one at the recent US championship was a true contest between real organic teams.
