DODGE JOURNEY OIL CHANGE 3.6 V6 FIAT FREEMONT
In this video we will show you how to change the engine oil on Dodge Journey / Fiat Freemont with the 3.6 V6 engine. In Europe Fiat Freemont is actually Dodge Journey and that is why it should be the same procedure to change the oil. We will demonstrated how to do an oil change on a 2012 Dodge Journey but it should be the same for the whole generation.

I have a question, I have a 2016 Dodge Journey SXT V6 and oil is 5W-20 does it matter what oil brand I use? Or do I have to use the oil brand that recommends in the owners manual?

the drain plug is actually a 1/2 inch, along with many other dodge vehicles. Be careful when using a 13mm, it can round the plug.

You guys rock. Just subscribed. The battery died in this car so my wife gave it to me and bought a new car. Most expensive free car I’ve ever had. After six months screwing with parasitic draw I bought a new battery and jumper cables to leave in the back seat. It has never not started again. Go figure.

good class, probable should let people know why it is over a little over on the dip stick before you start it. after starting the oil will fill the oil filter.

FYI the 3.6 V6 engine takes 5.6 liters of oil after letting the engine drain for 10 minutes,on the side of the oil jugs they have a clear marking how many liters you're using by the line.

Thanks. Very useful. There’s only one question. On the minute 5:50 you talk about the size of the socket for the oil filter gasket removal and said it is a 25mm. Then, for the torque wrench you also said to set it up to 25mm. I think something is missing here, shouldn’t you say how many kilogram or pounds of strength need to be set up to?

Viscosity. Cold climates need more viscosity, warm climates less.

@@jamesahern9864 Other way around but yes. In Canada I use 5W 20 in the winter as it is thinner, and lubricates the engine quicker on cold starts. I use 5W 30 for the couple months of heat we get, as it protects and coats the engine more during hotter weather. Keep in mind Dodge recommends 5W 20 of all the Journeys I have seen. The 5W 30 is preference

Torque to 25 what ft lbs of torque, you instructed to set torque wrench to 25mm.

FYI - FRAM oil filters are the worst on the market. WIX, the best, makes Micro Guard sold by O'Reilly's. 10 times the filter as a Fram.

You keep believing the internet hype, Skippy. Fram has been around for many decades. Never a lawsuit claiming their oil filter caused an engine failure. Watching too many oil filter videos with skewed info!
