Probably the darkest and goriest game ever released for the Sega Genesis and for 16 bits consoles. It was amazing but hard as fuck!!

I remember this cheat code: For start the game with 54 lives, in any moment during the level press start to pause the game and later enter the code "CCAABBCCAABB", and RoboCop will appears on a special level with the face of the main programmer, John Botti, giving to the player another code for weapon select. The boss battles has no music, sadly.

I indeed had a blast playing this game in the 90s! I rented it and finished it before the day was over. Ha ha, people complaining that 8-10 hours is too short with today's games! I don't remember anything about the secret levels. I also didn't know of the bullet-cancelling flame-thrower which took me some time to recognize in this longplay as the spread gun WAS the flame-thrower! Back then, I personally held on to the ED-209 gun all the way to the end, powerful and it shot fast. Anyway, respect and thx for the retro hookup!

God i miss this game. My old man bought this for me and gave it to me just before we left to go to Florida for my 6th birthday in 97. And when we were at Florida we saw T2:3D at Universal Studios. And on that trip to Florida i played this game on the Sega Nomad. Which was a portable genesis. I never hear about that any more.. That too was a gift for me from Toys R us.

Good animations, decent weaponry, a lot of power ups, decent fast pace action, just enought difficult, never lack of power ups or weapons, just enough blood and shoot almost anything this game screams 90's wet dreams and its awesome

A lot of discussion in this comment section about the Megadrive/Genesis version and the SNES version. Personally I like both versions for their own reasons. The SEGA version was more action packed (and gore but I don't think a game should be considered "Good" for that alone) while the Nintendo version was a bit more story driven. The SEGA version had unique bosses such as Cain where as the Nintendo version had the player facing a ground based Hunter Killer. I also rather liked the rudimentary AI the Terminators possessed, they actually starting to chase you and climbing ladders or hanging from pipes.

This must have been a very, very old emulator, even in 2012. The music was fixed in 99% of Megadrive emulators about 8 or more years before that.

Maybe you're new into video games (?) coz in fact the Mega Drive beats the SNES not only in a lot of hardware aspects but also in games. & i won't even talk about RoboCop Versus The Terminator since both versions are very different & both are interesting but rather about the NUMEROUS multiplat' that are better on Mega Drive : Earthworm Jim; Raiden; The Lost Vikings; Mickey Mania; Demolition Man; etc etc etc... ;)

No, just facts : - SNES version of Earthworm Jim runs in lower resolution; has less levels; less animation details, less sound effects, etc... - SNES version of Raiden is rubbish. An horrible, badly programmed port. - SNES version of The Lost Vikings runs in lower resolution & has less levels. - SNES version of Mickey Mania runs in lower resolution; has less levels; has loading times; etc... - SNES version of Demolition Man runs in lower resolution & has a lot of slowdowns... Etc etc etc...

Kj16V it's not subject to opinion,it's facts kid!let me continue: -SNES version of wrestlemania the arcade game is missing 2 characters(out of 8 in total,that's 1/4 of the game missing)+ less animation frames -the SNES version of toy story is missing the level "day-toy-na",which is an awesome 3d racing level miraculous for 16 bit hardware -SNES version of primal rage has way less animation frames,runs slower,has missing fatalities,etc. -SNES version of mortal kombat 1 is infamous for missing all fatalities and any blood in general,and not only that but apart from all this it plays totally different than the arcade version,like playing different game with mk characters -almost every single arcade port is better on megadrive/genesis than snes(if snes has any that is) in the long run it's actually the opposite of what you believe,when it's a multiplat game 90% of the cases the megadrive/genesis version is far superior in terms of overall smoothness,much much more sprites and comotion on screen without any slowdowan,etc.

Used to finish this without any continues or codes, knew it all by heart. The trickery was to not lose the big weapon, you can change it even while dying. :D Truly in the last moment!

Потрясающее. Благодарю автора за воспоминание. Была и Sega MD, и данная игра. Проходил её многократно и всегда с большим удовольствием. Однако, я только спустя много лет узнал, о возможности смены и переключения оружия. В итоге, всё время мучался со случайным оружием, а когда проигрывался маялся с изначальным оружием.

Hey you missed the secret hideout (or Easter egg) on level 2 if you don't know where it is, I can guide you there, it's a room full of terminators, the newer guns like the one gun from Ed-209 and plenty of Robocop life continues
