Zvika Greengold rampaged in a few of these at the Golan Heights back in 1973, while he was waging his one tank war. Even though the Soviet-made Syrian tanks had NV, they still couldn't match the Centurion.

didn't the Vickers Medium and Matilda 1 and 2 have sloped frontal armour? It's important to appreciate how the dropping of the rail transportability requirement enabled the wonderful Centurion to be so good by allowing a significantly larger turret ring. The horstman bogie suspension is another interesting feature. Centurion's designers took what was best from the PzIV, T34, Panther, Sherman, Churchill, and Comet and created something entirely new. They created a reliable, upgradeable vehicle with solid armour, the capacity to carry improved guns, and great cross country performance. I'm curious as to when the development of the 20pdr gun started? A video on the development of the 17pdr, 20pdr, and 105mm L7 would be brilliant.

A bit of correction, strv 104 was the model name of the last Swedish centurion, strv 105 was never a official thing, only a try to modernize the S-tank (strv 103). So two very different tanks.

But more of a correction, i think you're referring to the Strv 103"D" there (a planned upgrade for the S-tank) - the Strv 105 was an upgrade planned for the aging '104 fleet but iirc the project was dropped after the introduction of the Strv 121 and 122 MBTs (leopard 2s)

What made it successful was the Austin 8hp engine driving the auxiliary generator which was able to supply the huge electrical demand the vehicles had. This allowed the use of centrifugal gun laying and fast traversing of the turret.

The reality of the harsh battlefield has shown that the Centurion is the most successful Western tank that can be compared with the Soviet T54/55 tank. It is durable, withstanding all the rigors of the Middle Eastern desert, as well as achieving other reliable specifications. Its highlight is the 105mm caliber L7 Ordinace main gun, which is more powerful than the 90mm Patton tank gun like the M48. The Jews achieved victory through it.

Which ones are you specifically talking about? I haven't seen anything thus far that I've disagreed with. I mean, I do hear a lot of people disagreeing with the HE changes but I'm not personally one of them. I guess I also disagree with some specific tech tree retirements, such as the T-26, but I wouldn't call them game-destroying.
