Love the new intro. Also, I'm a union pipe fitter and always put teflon first, then pipe dope. Eric is on the right track. Never wanna put too much tape. It's designed to sit inside the threads. If you put too much the joint will just push it out when you tighten and defeats the purpose of using the tape.

Blue monster has different products for compatability also. In the petro chemical world, (I work in the crude oil side) lots of contractors are buying it cheap in bulk and installing it everywhere. Their Blue Monster 'blue' product will let petro chemicals creep through. I don't have any complaints about their nickle tape product. I have only seen their full line of products for gas and refined fuel oils in one store. ....probably available online!

Too much teflon is when you can't get the fitting on, too little is when you can actually get the fitting on, enough is somewhere in between 😉

We've got one 17,000 gallon diesel storage on our farm and we initially plumbed it from the bottom. Terrible mistake; Now it's plumber from the top and we leave 6-8" clearance from the bottom of the tank. We leave the bottom valve in place for a flush. Eliminated allot of wasted filters including tractor primary filters.

Would it be cheaper to have the tank polished every ten to fifteen years? That's what we do with the big fuel tanks aboard ships and at the fuel docks.

I work with irrigation and plumbing, dope the threads then wrap with Teflon 4-6 times. Always tighten as far as you can go. If you’re going metal threads into a PVC or just working with more fragile joints, you don’t want to over wrap the threads to prevent expansion which can cause splitting.

I've watched several hours (many) of your excellent vides and I have seen the great farming equipment, shops, and equipment storage buildings. I appreciate how God has blessed your family. Somebody has a huge financial responsibility in paperwork and accounting for depreciation and every business expense. It is evident from the way you talk and interact with each other that God and the church have been an important part of your family life. Keep up the great videos and stay safe! There is great potential for injury when being around farm equipment. One can be injured in an instant which might lead to long-term disability or worse. So take a moment to think of safety all the time. I pray that God will continue to Bless the Larson Farms and each one that is involved in the operations.

This Advice from my fellow Scandinavian which means it’s the truth three full wraps of Teflon tape and the pipe dope goes on on top of the Teflon tape to help with lubrication when threading and tightening and of course to give a good seal. If you did it the other way when you thread the pipe together the Teflon tape would just get chewed up. Love your videos sincerely Erik Andersen Erik spelt the right way lol

Beautiful grain cart . Try to get those hoses out of the way from the PTO and your teflon application depends al on the quality of the threads . The paste is not necessary but depending on how tight you wrap the teflon , 2x should do the trick . You know when it´s too much when you crack your fitting.

Just guessing here. Without any farm shows this is probably the next best way to get your product out and in front of the farming community. Personally I prefer watching this new equipment in action than sitting on the floor of a convention center. Sadly it's the smaller mfr's that are loosing exposure who will get hit the hardest as they can't get their products in front of the people that need to see and buy them.

Cool video. Now to answer your question on threads and thread sealing. Only use teflon on straight/parallel threads, npt are tapered and will not seal if teflon is used. The flank seats with the taper to create the seal. As for wrap.. only need 2 wraps at the very most. Always wrap with the direction of the thread never against.... lastly... TINT YOUR DAMN TAILLIGHTS LOL
