My favorite rye of 2022 was Rare Breed Rye Whisky. I’m looking forward to Sagamore Spirit Sherry Finished and I’m hoping I can get my hands on Prideful Goat. What a lovely lineup of ryes to try. Thank you Matt Porter.

Makes me so happy to see bodega cat on the list, I think it’s actually really decent and I think those two are funny as hell so I love that there’s actually good juice in there compared to most celebrity whiskey

Port PerryPerry and Sagamore Sherry both surprised the heck out of us this year. So good!

I don't even drink rye but I watched this video for the little gems like "this port peri peri made Porter very merry" Ah, whiskey poetry.

My favorite rye whiskies for 2022 are Old Forester Rye (affordable and awesome), Rare Breed Rye (available, awesome), and any rye from Woodinville (hard to find but great, especially cask strength-I have a secret source).

The jokes and the pallet are second to none!

My favorite of this year was the Hogback Eclipse out of CO. So much depth and a great finish.

The Prideful Goat rye has been collecting dust at my local grocery store. Been wanting to grab one and decided to pull the trigger after seeing it was #1 rye. So far this year my favorite was the Sagamore DO until i got the Sherry Cask. So good

I have two of them in my collection - Sagamore double oak and Alberta Premium cask strength. I agree that both are great. I have another Sagamore rye, but it isn't the Sherry finish - it is the Port finish. That one is also good. Sagamore is putting out some very nice whisky for a reasonable price. Hopefully, this will continue and the bottles won't completely vanish from the stores.

I know they’re not WhiskeyTube top-10 fodder, but the Peerless rye barrel picks are insanely good. IBN’s Pearl Dram Peerless is my top 2022 rye, after a distillery purchase (cherry chocolate tart) was my 2021 rye. Otherwise I’m all in on Sagamore Spirits cask strength.

Yeah man, that Prideful Goat 6yr CS is great. I need to grab another bottle. Not other worldy, but like you said, fantastic flavor and proof for the price.

The Sagamore DO is one of my favorite bottles under 100pf next to things like Michter's 10yr. Lower proof but still delicious and interesting.

My favorite Rye of the year is definitely Matt's Rare Character pick. I have Matt's #2 and #1 bottles also, but I have yet to open them. I have to limit how many open bottles I have at one time or I go insane.

Interesting list! I bought and love both those Sagamores, the Michters barrel strength, the Alberta, and 2 different Four Gates but not that one. I've been thinking about that Pursuit and the Prideful Goat for awhile too, so that'll help make that decision. My top 10, mostly all 95/5, (might not all be from 22 but were bought last year)would include Old Carter, Four Gate River Kelvin rye, Old Louisville batch 1, Barrel batch 3, Pinhook 6yr vertical, RY3 rum barrel from Virginia, , Nulu toasted barrel, 291 Colorado rye, Stellum Black label, Buzzards Roost peated barrel , and either Hard Truth Sweet mash rye or Rock Town BIB from Arkansas, which is actually better than their cask strength . For everyday though , I absolutely love the regular Stellum green label.. At least today..😉

I was very fortunate to track down a bottle of Port PerryPerry at retail a week or so ago.

Love that Alberta Premium cask strength. I've got 2020 and 2021, have not found 2022 yet. I've got the Sagamore Double Oak too. It's good but maybe not in my top 10. I think Found North Batch 3 is probably my #1.

Love Prideful Goat 7y rye and Sag DO. Bardstown WVGBC and Hughes BoB 10 year were great too. Pursuit United also did a Finger Lakes Sherry finished rye SiB pick that was fantastic.

My favorite bottle of rye that I picked up has to be 291's rye, it has such an amazing and addicting nose with a pallet to match.

my rare character rye was a TN rye but was ok, my RC bourbons have become my favorite and must haves

Great list Matt! Sagamore Double Oak is the one I have. Love it! Sherry finish hasn’t found it’s way to stores around here. Several aren’t available in Minnesota (e.g. Four Gate). Can’t order online because spirits can’t be shipped to Minnesota. BS liquor laws.

I scored the Pursuit rye when I was home in Chicago for x-mas. Binny's FTW. It is very good. I got the regular Michters rye this fall and really enjoy it. More so than I thought I'd like a 86 proofer. Then the Sagamore double oak. I don't buy enough non-barrel picks to make a list, so there you go.

Alberta Premium is a highly underrated rye. Even after winning some awards a couple of years ago I still see it sitting in shelves. Fine by me as I think but is delicious! I still have to make my foray into Sagamore, I keep hearing great things! I wish Prideful Goat was distributed here. Again have heard good things. My #1 is 1 of 1 rye whiskeys I've tried in '22. WT101 Rye. I dig it!

I really liked the Templeton Rye cask strength. I haven't had anything on this list, but I did have a 6 yr rye from Indiana at 117 proof. And it is Damn good stuff. Love your videos Matt!

Rarebreed and Pikesville ryes are fantastic and right up there in my top 3 along with Sycamore Double Oak. I bought a bottle of the Sycamore Port Finish and was underwhelmed, but won't judge by the neck pour (it is a thing!) and will give it another try in a few weeks. Haven't had the opportunity to try many on this list.

New Riff Malted Rye was my top Rye. It's fantastic.

Old Forester Single Barrel Rye Barrel Strength is my favorite so far. The Michters 10 Rye was disappointing in comparison. High West Double Rye was good too.
