I bought this nail gun as we were planning to renew all the fencing in our back garden. As this involved 19 double slatted fence panels, 10 of which needed to be cut down in size, we knew there would be a need for a great kzfaq.infoUgkxHQsUrwNr5GQrnx9V4xDdUr56qxwuiBHt deal of re-stapling the wooden slats to the wooden framework. Each alteration required the re-stapling of 62 wooden slats with double staples. Prior to starting the work we ordered sufficient additional staples as per the instructions with the gun.The gun performed fantastically throughout the entire project with no jams of misfires. The adjustable power was excellent allowing the staples to be fired into the 8mm slats to the correct depth. For the price paid this was a bargain and it proved itself to be so reliable and versatile making an arduous task much quicker and professional. I cannot recommend this product highly enough and it will be used on many other projects in the future.

The second you let that youngster lay that shingle with the blown through holes.. you failed as a teacher. You just taught him that that’s okay to do, and it’s not. I’m not knocking this down, but don’t teach someone bad habits, or how to slough when no one’s looking. I was taught to do everything correctly the first time, so that there never had to be a second time. After slinging shingles for 28 years.. I still made the occasional mistake, but when I stepped off the ladder, it was done correctly. A good suggestion for those starting out, or teaching someone how to roof.. start them out with pounding nails by hand. When they’re comfortable with those movements, and they become ingrained, you’ll be surprised with the fluidity, and productivity of an air gun in anyone’s hand. The students are only as good as the teacher..

Dude 1st off thank you for your service. I just have to say as diy guy and a skilled plumber and hvac technician thank you for your easy to understand explanation on the roofing tips. I tried roofing as a career when I was 13 and only lasted about 1.5 years. I then at 17 had to roof a 36sq roof after hurricane Katrina by myself and now here 16 years later after hurricane ida i find myself doing it once more and again by myself. I am by no means a roofer and thank you for helping me out on all the things I should already know....thanks bro

Had to give a like for that moment you guys realized he had the camera backwards. XD Watching this made me feel quite fortunate that I was there as a young man to help my Dad re-roof our garage, house, and to put the new roof on the shed he built. When I built my house I was able to participate in putting the roof on and realized how much the old man had taught me without me knowing it. Though water does indeed run down hill, as long as there is no wind, a hole through many layers of shingles will leak, no matter how many layers are underneath. You should always cover over a nail hole with something, even if there is another layer of shingle going over it. Sometimes the edge doesn't always seal and sometimes a new roofer might not notice a removed nail and he might allow a joint to be there.

Pro tip instead of overhanging the shingle and cutting it with a hook blade . Try this turn the shingle to the back side and place it to the edge of the dripedge and cut the shingle on the roof but from the backside using a straight blade, pick it back up and fold it to finish the cut. Now when you put it back in place the cut will be towards the edge and you wont have to cut leaning over the edge. I say straight blade because it makes straight cuts easier quicker and saves blades. I do hope you try this atleast 1 time coming from one veteran roofer to another much respect 👍👍

These videos are great.

I've put on about 4 roofs in my life, on three houses and one 1800 sq ft shop. They all worked fine (water runs downhill IS the mantra), but watching this, I see there were about 50 things I could have done to make the job a lot easier and faster. NOT cutting the overhang, but the other side of the shingle for the stair step is brilliant...and a lot safer than hanging over or near the edge to cut. You also obviously get a better looking end, since they are the factory cut, and I wouldn't have punched drip strip like I did in two places (ARRRG!). I've never seen a valley done that way, with the parallel shingle run up the snap line, either, but it makes a HUMONGOUS amount of sense...BOTH speed AND scrap wise. I would just have to make sure it meets code in my area. I'm sixty and change now and the roof is just about due (next 5 yrs or so, anyway), and I figure this next one should last pretty much the rest of my life...and if it doesn't, I sure as hell won't be putting on the next one!

When you run your shingles along the edge of the roof I always try to keep the factory side of the shingle butting to the next shingle. I’m not good at making straight cuts so I like to always cut my shingle off the edge of the roof so I can use the drip edge as my guide while I cut. Then I use the scraps I had on one end and use them on the other end

There are starter marks at 6” 12”18”and 24” for the overhang starting the runs then finish the other end with those starter cuts. All shingles are marked. I like your starts . Works really well. 😄

I remember helping my uncles with roofs when i was a young ladd, although i was just a labourer and didnt really get to lay, i payed attention and understood the basics....i eventually became a steady framer and after a couple yrs started running a crew. As you know in the building trades you meet a ton of people, people looking for a cheaper price (cash)......so i started shingling the houses i was framing. I just wanted to say thank you, i framed a house with 2 long hips, 2 long valleys, and 2 dormers, all 9 12 pitch, the homeowner asked if i would roof it and i immediately said yes lol, but in my head i was like ohhhh fuk! I was anxious cause of the hips and valleys. I stumbled across your vids and never looked back, your attention to detail it great and you dont come off as a know it all, and you explain things so clearly. With your patience im sure green guys starting out working with you are lucky to have a boss like you. Most of my bosses were screamers and didnt teach me fuk all, didnt want me to succeed even though i was a hard worker. What were your early experiences like?and where are you living? You didnt just tell them what they were doing wrong, you were explaining in depth, and even physically showing them how do it correctly..
