I know what I like, and I like this very much. It is progressive in all the right ways, and the songwriting is brilliant. Death metal should keep you constantly guessing what's around the next corner, yet almost dreading it, like a great horror film.

September 22 is a day to remember for a bit longer. The number of quite long-anticipated and less-anticipated albums realises will be gigantic. After listening to Wormhole, the band made my shortlist for the day. Congratulations! I am still learning not to categorise music 🎧 by simply staying open 👐 like Jimek suggested in one of his TED Talks. “Almost Human” sounds 🎵 like it. Even bigger congratulations, Wormhole!

This whole album has an absolutely special feeling of inhumane and abysmal sorrow. Yes, it's actually sorrowful, weeping and/or mourning. I love how the vocals work with music here. Those who complain just seem to be unable to feel it.

UPDATE: YES! This album pleases Tube-Man of the Gigax Council greatly! I grew out of Tech Death overall around the Crimson Massacre, Willowtip Records days circa 2008ish. But bands like Wormhole, Archspire, Killitorous, and Suffocation (I'll never tire of them. One of the first bands I ever heard back in the 90's) bring me back with that groove-laden way they do it. Season of Mist and Unique Leader always got bands that just hit so damn well for me. Love it!

Technical brutal death metal is a top tier genre IMO, also Scifi Death metal is the best kind of Death metal.

My early 2020 was made as bearable as possible due to these guys and TWAU, now with the pandemic basically over, I begin my new life whilst listening to them again, truly poetic, some excellent music and atmosphere on this one reminds me of Artificial Brain's Infrared Horizon, first song grabs you by your front lobes and never lets go, just how I LIKE IT!
