In cricket there are often occasions where players get into arguments with the umpires, this video of collection of all such moments in cricket history. Players could be fined or get banned from playing for dissent towards umpire or for arguing with the umpire on a decision. Also, according to Law 27.9 Umpires decision an umpire may alter his decision provided that such alteration is made promptly.

If you look at just how many times Ponting was (basically) abusive to the Umpires, it’s surprising he didn’t get fined more often.

There were no times in this video where Ponting was abusive. He is quite with in his right as captain to question the umpire's decision. What he was questioning was whether the umpire could use the video replay after a decision had been made. Remember, this is before the review system was in place an before you bring up the Haddin run out, he should have been out as well. Law 2.12 states the umpire can change their decision if it is done promptly, the question is what is promptly? I would have thought within a few seconds, not nearly one minute later. Having said all that, however, I agree Tendulkar should not have been given out in the first place.

No he didn't, he was half way back to the pavilion, that isn't promptly at all. Promptly is while the batsman is still standing there. A better worded law would solve this issue, far too much room for interpretation.

Im Aussie and Ponting should have been sacked as Captain on a number of occasions. Even when proved completely wrong or caught blatantly cheating he would still argue with the umpires. Weak management let him do it.

Ponting was 100% correct in his decision to contest it. This is a PROFESSIONAL sport, the rules state that the umpires decision is final, the umpire gave it out, tendulkar being called back is ridiculous, batsmen get out on a wrong call frequently, no one gets called back.

To those who are commenting on this video such as this need to learn a couple of things. This was back in the time when 3rd Umpire Reviews were recently implemented, none of the players here would of seen the video the 3rd umpire used which is obvious from the video. All they would of seen is the ball deviating and a sound as it past Tendulkar then an appeal (maybe the keeper did or didnt see it hit on the shoulder blade we dont know) . If the rules state that the empire decision is final its pretty hard to accept for a captain that the original call should not stand. This is no different to how Federer acted when they implemented new rules for hawk-eye technology when he was used to playing in a time when calls were calls. This isnt Australia trying to be cheap, they are just passionate about the sport.

And also in the very same match similar incident had happened and I am quoting from newspaper and also after seeing the match. "Wicketkeeper Brad Haddin was initially adjudged run out only to be called back after television replays showed that bowler Harbhajan Singh had broken the stumps when the ball wasn’t in his hand."

Look buddy. I watched this live. You probably weren't even born. You definitely have no idea about how this situation came to be. Akram was bowling bouncers at the New Zealand tail enders all afternoon. Lance Cairns was hit in the head and had to go to hospital. Ewan Chatfield was the batsman here and was a number 11. He had absolutely no batting skills whatsoever. It was intimidatory bowling and the umpire was quite within the rules. The irony was that if Akram had pitched the ball up, he would have taken the wicket and Pakistan would have won. As it was, he bowled like an idiot and Pakistan lost.

Umpires are within their rights to change their decision if batsman hasn't crossed boundary rope. Yet, Ponting misbehaves and Aussie commentator calls it bizzare. Amazingly, Australian cricket team has benefited from this same rule multiple times. Just shows this was a team without any conscience at all..

For all those people on here having a crack at Ricky Ponting, he played 156 Test Matches and 300 odd ODI's so to just hammer him about his behaviour for a couple of examples is quite irrelevant. Perhaps he'd look back on that and think " I could've handled that better". People also having a crack at their appeal against Tendulkar obviously haven't watched cricket in the sub-continent where anything that hits a pad is fair game for frivolous appeals. Mark Benson got it wrong but had the courage to make the decision to recall Tendulkar which was the correct decision. The Peter Parker decision was absolutely correct. Wasim Akram was well out of line in a couple of these and didnt help when he bounced Ewan Chatfield after being cautioned. Chatfield was a bunny who couldnt bat. Shakib al-Hasan has a record as long as your arm so lets not go Aussie bashing.

Very first clip Although he wasn’t out it was within Aus rights to appeal, umpire gives out. Very sportsman’s like of the batter to walk off without arguing even though he wasn’t out. But after the replay the umpire called him back. This is where it is controversial because at that time reviewing or overturning the original decision were not a thing. Once your were called out you were out, right decision or not. That is what the Aus captain was complaining about.

Dennis Lilley,Mike whiteney,Steve Waugh,Macgrath,Shane warne Ricky Pointing, Mitchell Johnson Brett Lee,Andrew Symonds,Steve Smith,Tim Pain, Mitchell Starc and many more examples. Alan Border,Adam Gilchrist, Micheal Bevan,Usman Khwaja,Brad Haddin were good sportsmen. The only Indian team learn the lesson to them in their own style. Waquar's behaviour was not only calculating and deliberate, he was deliberately ignoring the umpire, but it was dangerous,. A player has died from being hit with bowling like this (accidental and unreservedly tragic as it was), one bouncer per over - that is it - it limits the chances of such a thing happening again. He should have been sent off the field of play.

You are allowed to appeal, nothing unsporting about appealing, especially when there was a lot of noise and the ball deviated in its path...that's what an appeal is, it is asking a question and is written into the Laws of cricket. It is then up to the umpire to adjudicate and if he/she makes an error then so be it. There have been millions of times where an umpire has made an error, with plenty in all teams favour...so when that happened in India's favour, did they call them back? Hmmm a big fat NO.

Pointing was right it was a NO ball but unpires didn't rectified it just before next delivery outside blackcaps players were informing its wrong and same one with Tendulkar never a decision can be changed!!!And people tell its cheating but it's in rule...In recent Ipl match CSK vs RR umpires didn't changed the decision of NO BALL when Dhoni too entered the field but here it did by outside interference!
