Honestly.. England fan here who did like Eddie and loved how gnarly he made us during 2016-2019, he used to complain about the English media .. this is even worse! Dour, whiny, stupid questions again and again on QC, looking for a salacious headline.. he’s right, they are a crux of the issue of Union losing popularity in Aus. Would they dare be so negative to a team of Larkham, Gregan, Gits, Mortlock, Mithchell, AAC? No. Eddie is trying to get Aus back to that level of team and back to a period of golden rugby. They’ve got the players. They always will. It’s the negative press man, it’s terrible. As bad as England, if not worse.. whiny and immature. EJ, agree with you on this one.

Agree - and it's due to glaring lack of adequate support for grassroots rugby or development pathways. Therefore lots of talent gets lured to NRL or AFL - understandably. RA is in denial about all of this.

@@footyfin oh I agree with you, grassroots is also dying here too, and we aren’t producing the calibre of players we once did. Look at Ireland and France for the NH - everything hinges on the roots of the game. It’s celebrated and propagated. Here, we have Bill Sweeney and Massey-Taylor at the helms of the RFU and Prem pulling in opposite directions, but both asleep at the wheel. It’s a farce. The Prem is high scoring and great to watch.. because the overall standard is lower now, particularly in defence. Saracens ruled Europe a few seasons ago. Not the case at present.

Eddie raised it multiple times throughout the interview and they kept banging on about it. So he should call then out, negatively sells more papers, but it’s hurting the wallabies.

It's about time EJ. I have been wondering when you were going release the chain around the neck. Never have I seen Wallabies this poor in world rugby. I'm a Bok supporter. Grew up never understanding how they managed to beat the Boks with a smaller team. Beating the ABs in the 90s and 00s. So good EJ is back in rugby in Australia. Living here in the west of Australia, the rugby at junior level is poor and not enough support from the professional arm of rugby is given. Australia get that sorted and the rugby will grow better. EJ will get the Wallabies to tick. Cutted out prima donnas and old boys club members. Never under estimate an Aussie

In all fairness the Wallabies have an easy run to the quarters. If they lose any matches getting there then something is terribly wrong. RA really need to have hard look at building the game from grass roots and retaining the young talent that ends up going to the NRL. Playing rugby in only private schools only limits the potential talent as well as not having free to air televised games. RA what are you doing to build this great game!!
