Users usually access social media services through web-based apps on desktops or download services that offer social media functionality to their mobile devices (e.g. smartphones and tablets). As users engage with these electronic services, they create highly interactive platforms in which individuals, communities, and organizations can share, co-create, discuss, participate, and modify user-generated or self-curated content posted online. Additionally, social media are used to document memories, learn about and explore things, advertise oneself, and form friendships along with the growth of ideas from the creation of blogs, podcasts, videos, and gaming sites.[9] This changing relationship between humans and technology is the focus of the emerging field of technological self-studies.[10] Some of the most popular social media websites, with more than 100 million registered users, include Twitter, Facebook (and its associated Messenger), WeChat, ShareChat, Instagram, QZone, Weibo, VK, Tumblr, Baidu Tieba, and LinkedIn. Depending on interpretation, other popular platforms that are sometimes referred to as social media services include KZfaq, QQ, Quora, Telegram, WhatsApp, Signal, LINE, Snapchat, Pinterest, Viber, Reddit, Discord, TikTok, Microsoft Teams, and more. Wikis are examples of collaborative content creation.
Social media outlets differ from traditional media (e.g. print magazines and newspapers, TV, and radio broadcasting) in many ways, including quality, reach, frequency, usability, relevancy, and permanence. I'm 64.. and growing up in the US public school system our education in history was largely about America.. only superficially about other parts of the world.. So watching this young man helps a lot in filling in he blanks parts.. I did escape the "wokism" inflicted on modern US schools.. Thankfully our kids are grown and well adjusted young adults.. They also escaped it.. The real education we want, need for all the children is fact based.. The reality of real people as they actually lived in times past.. not opinion pieces masquerading as "history"..

I have 30+ years experience with horses. The last few years, feminists have been saying it is female horses that lead a wild herd. I get called names and told I am listening to misogynists when I try to correct them. A female may lead a small "mini-herd" of old or sick horses; and she may "adopt" orphaned foals. (The Disney remake of "Black Beauty" also told this lead mare lie). It is so hard to tell the truth in today's society without being called racist, sexist, etc.

4:25 Greek here, History comes from the word "Ιστορια" (Historia) which is a combination of 2 words, ιστο (histo) and ρια (ria). "Ιστο" comes from the word Ιστος which means "Web" and "ρια" comes from the word "ροή" which means flow. Combined together they make "webflow" or "flow of the web".

Zahi Hawas is the foremost Egyptian archaeologist/Egyptologist, with many highest titles under his belt (like head of Cairo museum of archaeology, minister of antiquities and more). Well to be fair, truth when it comes to history is concrete until it is verifiably proven incorrect or not completely accurate. Which such changes to what seemed concrete history happens quite frequently. Not things that completely change events really but more often change how things happened sequentially and the context of the situations. Or revealing the more accurate circumstances around an event that was largely embellished by the people present during the events. That’s why you should always preface when you make a point or provide current evidence that this is what is currently believed to be true instead of it being absolutely the case. Especially when it comes to analyzing ancient geopolitical spheres as there’s a lot of nuance. Which is why Metatron is probably the best historical KZfaqr out there since he almost always makes that point clear that the information is possibly subject to change or becoming outdated.

When I am winning an argument, the personal attack of choice from Americans is calling me a leprechaun or mentioning alcoholism(a problem we share with the English, and a problem more prevalent in Eastern Europe than in Ireland or Britain), and there is always a denial that the 19th century event was an artificial famine and genocide.

I had a history professor who called Black people in England African American. I told this to a coworker and she just blankly looked at me and said “that’s what they’re called…”. I proceeded to ask her if a native Kenyan who moved to Japan without ever touching American soil would be African American. “Well, yeah…”. I didn’t know how to respond.

I think wokeness has evil or selfishness (includes ego) at its core, historical "illiteracy" is just a side effect. They pretend to be historically illiterate to advance their own wants (it's usually money, ego, or power whether more power in a movie project, more power in an organization, or simply the power to see that you can make someone believe something you know you just made up - no matter the job more power over people basically). Hello Metatron. I'm a huge fan. I learn a lot from your channel. And I'm impressed with the effort and research you put in your work. I'm Nigerian by the way. I love the logic and reason with which you approach your videos. And thus video goes to show how ignorant some people are. I'm one person that was really enraged with the Cleopatra being black thing. Like she's was of Ptolemaic descent. She was Greek. So she was European. Most people who don't know history want to change that. Say she was black. She was not. Secondly the Woman king movie. I've never been more annoyed. Dahomey Kingdom which is Benin republic is our neighbors here in west Africa. The movie could not be far from the historical events...

Because you are a true African - you understand your history , past , present , future . It’s also 360 - you understand what came before the transatlantic slave trade , and what is happening now for good or worse . African Americans come from one single narrative , perspective and experience. It’s sad but true . Yes this is the fault of the transatlantic slave trade , but the history and cultures of the world can not be assessed from one single perspective. Ps I’m European , Spanish / Egyptian/ English . Each one of these cultures running through my veins has centuries of history , again good and bad . But my perspective of the word is in 4 dimensions , not held back by any past event . Peace

Yes, very entertaining on a hot Sunday afternoon in Lombardy, northern Italy. Regarding a person you mentioned "Zahi Abass Hawass (Arabic: زاهي حواس; born May 28, 1947) is an Egyptian archaeologist, Egyptologist, and former Minister of State for Antiquities Affairs, serving twice". Quoted from Wikipedia. He appears in many documentaries about Ancient Egypt and I think his opinions are worth listening to. He too has been involved in the Black Cleopatra controversy. As you suggest, if someone wants to talk about black Pharaohs, there is an entire dynasty, the 25th Nubian dynasty, who were undoutedly black (while, as everyone knows, or should know, the Ptolomaic dynasty were Macedonian Greeks).

Historical revisionism is a political tool. Truth, facts and objectivity are not its purpose rather achieving a specific outcome is.

@@anta3612 Historical revisionism can be a political tool, but its not inherently bad. If we have new data of an historical event, we should do a new analisis taking in account all the data. An example of this is the URSS history, we get new data as the soviet archives declassifie old documents. The correct work is to take this new data, check its veracity and contrast it with the information we had until now. But as has been well said, there will always be someone who takes anecdotal evidence or decontextualizes information and passes it off as absolute truth, that is why it is important to check the bibliography and sources of any investigation. Sorry if i misspell anything, english is my 3º language.

Im from Russia and you can't even imagine how much the last year has opened my eyes to how many of such braindead people around (from both sides), especially on the English-speaking Internet. With enough propaganda and lack of education you can put anything in the brains of masses. I listened to much more and worse messages from seemingly educated people in my address recently. And if someone reading this thinks that the current political situation around Russia in the western hemisphere is somehow "different" from what you saw in the video, then I have bad news for you, you are the same haters who do not understand what is happening. This monstrous lack of education, haterism and superficial conclusions have penetrated into all spheres of our society which at least somehow politically beneficial to thos big guys controlling media, not only in the discussion about racism or other "w0ke" agendas.

regarding this "get a rEaL jOb" comments.... the true problem about people with such a mentality is that they would probably state that the other forms of work you mentioned in your short video wouldn't be classified as "reAl JoB / wOrk" either. To them, any form of intellectual / academic work wouldn't be classified as such. and the real shame is: most people with an academic background needed to work up their a**** to get their respective degrees ..... and way too many of them were let down by their own academic fields, economic sectors or even their entire societies

Professional genealogist here. Those claiming Italians were considered blacks in the U.S. are bonkers. YES, they were discriminated against. But so were the Irish. A big part of the discrimination was the age-old argument of legal immigration. In some of the diaspora they were called “WOP,” or WithOut Papers. Sound familiar? Even my mother, who is ethnically half Italian (Sicilian), was called WOP, and cultural stereotypes and history had a role in that-they said it’s because that’s the sound the tires make after a drive by in Little Italy where she grew up. Passenger manifests of immigrants classified northern and southern Italians separately. This was mostly due to socioeconomic status, and sometimes color. There is a book put out by Cambridge Press called “The New Racism in Europe: A Sicilian Ethnography,” that has a great discussion on this, though don’t forget that southern Italy was half of the country, not just Sicily. Likewise, to the trolls, Italy wasn’t even a unified kingdom until the 1860s (and changed numerous times afterward). You can’t apply today’s boundaries to much of Europe even when speaking of just 100-150 years ago. Metatron is 100% right that calling Italian-American immigrants black was completely political (and they weren’t thought of as black as you think of African Americans). The way people discriminate against immigrant neighborhoods today is what happened a century ago and even in our recent history. Yes, some southern Italians had darker skin, but they were more associated with crime than skin color. Draft cards and passenger lists describe their complexions as anywhere from fair and light, to ruddy, to dark. Color was in the eye of the recorder. But guess what? In historical records, you also see African Americans and Latinos passing as white and being classified as such, or as Spanish (which is also white, but this is where our modern ideas of “exotic” come from). Racial classifications were based solely on perception, economics, and success. My family is from Trapani province in Sicily, and some from Marsala-about as close as you can get to Africa in Europe (apart from Gibraltar, Lampedusa, or some Iberian islands). My Marsalan family is just as fair in complexion as Metatron, with chestnut and auburn hair. Meanwhile, my some of my other family from Salemi-just 30 minutes inland from Marsala-is darker with black hair and green or brown eyes…much more of an Arab/Levant look or complexion (from the western POV). You have to remember that Sicily was conquered over and over again by many populations and was a historical mixing pot. There is room in its history for all colors. *edited for typos.

People don't "hate" content creators, they are jealous of them. I myself have struggled with this character flaw, and it has caused me to think in irrational ways. I hate this about myself and try everything in my power to not feel this way, and if I do feel this way, I try my hardest never to act upon the feeling. Furthermore, I do have sympathy for those that do because it can be almost uncontrollable sometimes when a person feels jealous. That is where all the "get a real job" comments truly come from, and it can be confused with hatred, but it’s really just someone who is jealous that you get to do a job that they wish that they got to do.

Unfortunately, it's a natural human response (IMO). People tend to punch up, but they also punch down, so that really makes me sad. I have caught myself feeling this way before. I think that it sort of falls into the victim hood mentality. It is a disgusting way to think, and I hate it when I catch myself doing it. I had always had a lot of respect for my best friends dad. He makes a lot of money, but always seemed very humble. He supposedly came from a rough background. One day, I heard him talking bad about a guy that was struggling with his marriage and finances. That same day, he talked bad about another guy that is more successful than him, like that man didn't deserve the money that he was making. People are strange. I have never looked at my buddie's dad the same since then. I can only imagine what he thinks of me. I have had several big ups and downs. Anyway, it's good to notice negative things about yourself, so that you can change. I try to be happy for everyone that does well, and hope for the best when people are struggling. Stay positive brother. It's hard in this world of haters.

One of my favourite channels. Hating truth is the new modus oporandi of the weak minded. Truth to them equals offence, and breaks down their self delusions and world view.
