Having watched plenty of football games, it certainly isn’t the worst own goal ever. There have been guys scoring own goals with stunning headers from +20 meters, bicycle kicks from same distance, pathetic touches while trying to be fancy... This girl’s og is definitely a normal one. You never pass the ball to the goal keeper, sending the ball in the direction of the goal. The ball is always sent in the direction of the end line, precisely to avoid these type of home goals.

Lesson to be learned here? Don't pass the ball back towards the goals, always knock it wide of the posts.

@@No-Stack-Developer No, it's not. It's common knowledge. If you pass back between the posts there is always a chance of this happening. Pass back wide of the posts and the worst that can happen is a corner.

@@No-Stack-Developer Ha ha. Off you go little boy. I've forgotten more about football than you'll ever know. It's part of training now a days. Players are coached to pass back back wide of the goal. If you concede a corner, then you at least have a chance of defending it. It's percentage play. If you knew anything about the game, you'd understand this basic aspect.

No margin for error for goalkeepers. Outfield players can make this kind of mistake and, by and large, get away with it. But do this when you're in goal, and the ball's in the back of the net. Brutal.
