@@DanHiteshew-oneandonly Thanks for responding Yes, I loosened it. I finally figured it out. I had to take off the brake and actually press the safety button and squeeze the handle as if I were cutting with it. If I ever forget to unplug it first, I will be maimed. Yikes!

I'm not sure. It depends on your needs. I'd probably go with the bigger one if I was to buy it again.

I don't know the difference between the models.

@@DanHiteshew-oneandonly , No antique tags, lol, but still have the original sales receipt. Was purchased back in 1981 & that saw is a workhorse. The price was $199. We used to cut & burn wood for years & years. Switched to coal awhile back. Still use the saw to this day. Lots of multiple new parts on it, I.E. bars, chains, sprocket, plugs. It does have a kickback safety feature though & manual oiler. I like your electric saw. Powerful for its size. Was wondering, does it have an auto oiler for chain lubrication? Most chains dull up fast if overheated or sawing into dirt, etc.

@@davidsamsell2031 Yeah, the bar oiler is automatic. I get about two batteries per tank of bar oil. My biggest problem with gas equipment is that I use it so infrequently, that by the time I need it again, the gas is bad and it won't run. Electric solves all that. (just got an electric pressure washer too) Lawn tractor and leaf blower are my only gas equipment anymore.

@@DanHiteshew-oneandonly I know what you mean. We had issues from our boat Mercury outboard motor to lawnmowers with starting \ running problems over the years. What eliminated the problems for us is the using of Sta-bil gas stabilizer. It really keeps the fuel fresh & helps in other ways, with our 2 & 4 cycle engines.

@@davidsamsell2031 Use the Sta Bil marine formula. It's better than the regular stuff, by a long way.

I still love it. Not a problem yet. (Remember it doesn't get used all the time. only when I have larger stuff to clear up)
