Great advice. Every elite player uses this extensively, which I noted by watching their livestreams. I use to quickly zoom in prior to every shot until I realized the best players no scope a LOT, which allows you to see everything around you and save a lot of time, which makes a huge difference to plan your next move. There are 3 more advanced techniques using this if you feel like making an update to this. 1. Pre aim the reticle without scoping in even when you’re behind cover and then poke. Unless the enemy is facing you frontally you can poke and shoot incredibly faster without zooming in, or if he’s frontal it makes for a much quicker adjustment if you have to zoom and aim for a weak spot. This is how top players poke so incredibly fast and preserve their hp. 2. When no scoping and poking over a ridge you can shoot immediately when the reticle turns green, even when it doesn’t look like your gun is in proper position. It feels like it breaks the laws of physics but it is also a tactic that the elite players use, and it exposes the bare minimum of your turret so you’re very unlikely to get penned. Like you said, you just need to trust in the game mechanic and not rely on your visual image. 3. This one takes a ton of practice in training rooms and fun modes, but once you set your reticle, you can drive away while using your scroll bar (you can’t touch the aiming area, which is the hardest habit to break) to see where your driving so you don’t run into obstacles, and shoot when the reticle turns green (which is why I prefer the A shaped reticle because it’s easier to see when it turns green). In other words, the tank your shooting is completely out of your field of vision (it’s completely behind you while you’re driving and looking away from him), which allows you to either run away and still shoot, or shoot him while looking at the rest of the battle so you can decide much much faster what your next target will be or where you need to relocate to. Number 3 is extremely difficult imo since it’s a new skill I’m trying to develop after having certain habits over 9 years and a bazillion battles, which is why it’s such a good thing to practice in training rooms because it will take a lot of attempts to make it feel natural. This is how some players can shoot you while running away and navigate the terrain, while 99% of people on touch devices drive straight into a rock or building and get punished. Number 3 allows you to break through a skill cap. If someone’s stats have plateaued, this is the way to break through that ceiling and get even better. Watch a N9O medium or light livestream on his KZfaq channel (I’d recommend his most recent batchat one as he uses these techniques so often), or an even better example is ufpnjh, but it’s in Russian so you don’t get his thought process. I mute it and just watch. It boggles my mind how precise he can aim/ use the auto-aim while not scoping in the vast majority of the time. Just watch a couple of his battles in a light or medium on his KZfaq channel to see his use of the auto-aim, and let me know what you think. He takes the concepts in your video to an ungodly level. Great video and I wish I knew this several years ago lol.

I have to admit, this was an inspired video and system that as I said,my brother and I stumbled into. I have let it ride and not really spent any thought on it in a while, although I still of course use a variation of it as I play now. It’s not as necessary, as you said, to pre-aim as much. Especially with the newer auto aim mechanic in game. But for the newer player I think it helps. This video has obviously been my biggest hit and was one I spent months working on. The system, and breaking it down into usable way that anyone could use. I love your input! And I am gonna print your comments so I can study them and work on them myself, with the goal of expanding my system to include them in it. @@jpd1967jd sure, I’d love to practice this in a training room on voice. If you’ve never tried the third advanced technique I mentioned, it will literally blow your mind. To shoot a tank that you can’t even see, while driving away is unbelievable. This is basically what people can do on PC, but on touch it takes a ton of practice to build that skill. If you can practice it enough to make it a habit, it opens so many possibilities (allows you to escape with taking less damage instead of having to brawl and die, or if it’s a low hp target it allows you to look at the rest of the battle going on so you can quickly relocate to the next target) and your skill level and success will dramatically improve…..but it’s not a quick one time try it out and it sticks forever. I find younger players pick this up very fast, which is why almost all of the top players are young. I’m turning 54 this month so it’s something I’m still training and don’t have it mastered in real game scenarios, but getting better and better at it. It’s really fun because it adds a whole new dimension to this game, which can get kind of stale after you have plateaued after so many years. I’m on the NA server and go by Jaq__ and Jaq___. I set up 2 accounts in 2014 that my son and I shared and could platoon together. If you find it fun and beneficial we could later also try to get another player or two involved so we could see what it looks like in third person. I haven’t used voice in years since I stopped stat chasing and all of my friends in my original clans Sparta and Grim stopped playing, but this sounds like fun. Just let me know. I’m also fairly active on the NA forum so you could send me a direct message there if you don’t hear back from me, because sometimes the in game messages get deleted and you can’t find them again.

Very helpful....one issue with auto aim has been when there are 2 tanks rocking back and forth. Your auto aim is fixed on the one that goes behind hard cover while his teammate pops out and shoots you.

I have used auto for many years but a lot of that is because my hands' shacks a lot it's some bad health I have but yes it does help. But it does hurt you sometimes too because it does not go for the weak spot. I do use it in one on one fights however it's hard to make it hit where you need it to hit in a TDs.

What you did not tell is what mode do you have your auto-aim set to in your settings?

Good point. My current settings are as follows. Auto Aim is set to ENABLED. Joystick is set to FIXED Auto Aim version is OLD. I’m an old school player, been in the game 7 years. My settings haven’t changed. I’ve tried the newer settings, but always come back to this.

@@cyclingcmdr to be truthful I don’t have a good answer for you. I tried it and didn’t like the feeling of it in game. You’d have to try it out yourself and see how comfortable each mode is for you. Everyone has a different style that works for them, nobody is wrong in that.

I think it's Mobile auto aim. Mobile auto aim is better when you wanted to auto aim some specific part of the enemies tank. There's also new auto aim and old auto aim

I don’t use the newer type of aiming settings. I find them difficult to use. I’m an OG player from the first year of the game and am used to this style

@@jpd1967jd for regular battle, I also use the old one. For the old one, we must predict the shell velocity if we wanted to shoot the moving target, but it is very good at close quarter combat. On the other, new auto aim mode is really good for fun mode like gravity, because the mode calculates the shell velocity and aimed to the spot that we wanted to aim, but not as good as the old one. Both side has some pros and cons, depends on the players which one to use.

I have 40k games. Still having trouble with auto aim. It follows enemy and hits buildings when enemy is trying to hide. How to keep it stable on the visible portions of the enemy ?

I’m currently working on a part 2 to this video. Please look for it. But to answer your question. Try aiming at the visible part to begin with, then use that point as the auto aimed part whenever they poke out. Otherwise, if it’s aimed at a portion of the tank that doesn’t stick out, you’ll never hit it. Keep in mind the RNG Gods. Sometimes the best aimed shot just goes into RNG oblivion! Hopefully this helps

This is a great start to unveiling the mystery of auto-aim, but is still quite lacking. 1. I wish you could give a comprehensive definition of how the auto-aim works, so players can make more complex use of the feature. Reload, aim, shoot; is overly simplistic. 2. I would like to know how it locks on exactly. What if I want to track a tank every time, or I want to go for the ammo rack every time. How do I set those two different shots up for auto aim? 3. Is there any penalties for using it? Does dispersion, aim time, rotation, etc… get worse by using this? 4. Cover: Does it lock onto that spot regardless of what is in between the muzzle and the target? Can you track to open tank spots or weak spots? That’s just off the top of my head.

Ok. So let me start by saying thanks for the questions. I’ll answer them as best as I can. I even believe that some of your answers were in the video, if you paid attention. But I’ll take them one by one. Also, keep in mind that this system was developed and tested by my brother and I without any information on it. Some of the technical answers you might be wanting don’t exist in any format that we could find. These answers are from my experience with this system that I’ve been using for a few years at this point. 1. Auto aim works by the game trying to hit the same spot that you aimed at the first shot. Reload. Aim. Shoot may be simplistic, it it works extremely well in trying to teach someone how to do this on a video. 2. The system on mobile is not as good as the one that the PC users have. That could be about to change, I’ll explain later. It locks by trying to repeat what you did in your first shot. Thus, unless you hit the ammo rack your first shot, it won’t be aimed there. It wants to aim at the spot you hit in a linear fashion. Even if the target turns.it will be trying to hit that one spot you already previously hit. It does not adjust each shot. Other then this, you can’t expect an auto lock on specific spots. Maybe if this was BLITZ20202 and was using 21st Century Tanks with a computer guidance system, that would be included. Not here. 3. There are no penalties for using it that I see. It seems that normal modifiers for shooting on the move while not aiming in sniper mode would apply. Worse? Better? Not hitting a rock or wall while on the move is in my opinion the game changer. 4. In my experience. Cover, if he’s out of sight long enough to break your spotting of him, will break the lock. But if he drives past a rock and you just lose sight for a second or 2, it seems to jump back on. Every situation is different in that aspect it seems. While this system works on every tank style, it seems to work best in turreted tanks. Non turreted TD’s this system isn’t much use with, in my opinion. Last. This all may be changing before too long, as I said. There was a new auto aim system in beta test that in its current form, would more then equalize the PC vrs mobile difference. It would in fact break the game, again, in my opinion. But it’s in beta test and that means they will be tweaking it before release several times I would think. This system is not perfect and is not intended to be. It’s intended to show players something that the Pro KZfaqrs won’t show you. How to use it. I’ve received far more hits on this subject then any other, and have plenty of views and comments to support my system. It’s not perfect, but it’s not “quite lacking.” As you put it.

I tried to activte auto aim on pc version. It does it only on the right mouse click and when i activate it I can not use sniper mode what can i do?

Unfortunately. As I believe that I mentioned in the beginning of the video, I don’t play on computer and know nothing about it. My guess is that if you set auto aim as a button to turn off in sniper mode that may fix your issue. But I’m not sure. Sorry

Ok I get this but how do people pop up and shoot me? They peek over top of ridge and shoot me so quickly I don't get a chance to respond. Is that auto aim too? I'm on PC so its way different than iPad or android tablet. If I lock on when using PC it's always locks on the middle of the tank. So if the tank is only partially showing the auto aim is pointing at the middle which I cant hit because it's behind cover. I find your video a little confusing.

What they are doing is called playing “hull Down.” I have a video in my lists on how to do it that shouldn’t be to hard to find. They may have you auto aimed at that point, but they may not, depending upon the player. But that doesn’t matter to your question. In this situation where they are hull down and you can’t effectively return fire, you have 2 choices in my opinion. First pull back into cover and play against them hull down as well. This can prolong your health and keep you in the game longer until your team arrives to help. Or, if you have help. Second option is to push over their hill and push them, taking away their cover advantage. Situationally, it’s a judgment call that you have to make based on experience and how much health your tank has left. A 3rd option is back into cover and force them to push on you. The tendency is that tanks that are good at hull down have poor hull armor and are trying to hide it. Pull them out of cover and you take away their advantage. I hope this helps. Good Hunting!

Hi man , I hv a question : when I shoot the enemy tank , he is waiting for my shoot , after I shot ( maybe half second later ) he is shooting. I have shot first but my bullet being disappered and he is taking score. How can that be possible? Currently , they are doing that in every set of game , not a few times.

To start with, at this point when someone is already aiming at you while you’re aiming at him means that you’ve been spotted. The light actually goes off 4 seconds AFTER you’ve been spotted. This means that the other team can already see you when you see the lightbulb go off. Second. The solution to this is try to fire from behind a bush at longer ranges. If you get spotted, pull out of sight and wait 12 seconds before pulling out again. I’d also consider moving to another location to keep from being predictable. Hope this helps. Good Hunting!

What you are experiencing here are “ghost shots”. War gaming claims that this is something that is happening occasionally in on-line games. Due to the nature of on-line gaming, information is sometimes lost or being dropped due to latency, if I understand their description correctly. But is still annoying is **** when it happens.

Ok. Just tried it after watching the video. Not sure if it's changed since this video, but it's like I've always suspected. No matter where I do the auto-aim, it just goes back to the center of the tank. Maybe there is a setting somewhere to change this?

There is no setting. The auto aim is going to lock into the tank and “TRY” to hit the same spot that you first hit. Different factors like you or the target moving, how it’s turned and what’s available as a target, cover, will always effect this. A newer auto aim system is in the works by Wargaming and I have video to put together about it. But we will see what changes if they actually introduce it to the game. It’s broke AF currently!

@@tomcha75 yes. Aim at a spot. Hit the spot. Then your locked. Reload and repeat without being zoomed in. Then. Like I said, it will try to hit THAT spot, if possible.

@@tomcha75 OHHHHHHH! Your on a computer playing! This is a mobile Auto Aim video. I don’t play on computer and can’t help you there. While both systems are probably similar, the computer version is way better! I’m not sure how it’s done, but when your locked, it’s almost hands free/eyes closed! That system on computer version is completely more reliable and easy to use then the Mobile version. I’m not sure how much more help I can be for you. And I did say this was for Mobile players. That was the original reason why I researched how to do it.

You did you were going to reset you camo buy you didn't. Also you say "aim fire , reload" but you also mention something about zooming in and then don't zoom in? So I guess you would recommend using auto aim or not to use it?

I’d recommend watching the video again and try and catch everything said. Yes I’d recommend using this system if your in a tank where you can get away with using it. Such as a medium or light tank. Heavies and TD’s can also benefit from this system, depending upon how your using it. There are several videos on my channel covering this topic. Watch them and see how this works for you. Step 1. Zoom in and aim at the target. Step 2. Fire and hit your target. Step 3. Zoom out, reload and repeat. Once aimed in and a positive hit is achieved on the target by you, the auto aim system will “want” to hit this spot again and will aim at it automatically. Thus, you can zoom out. Good luck!

well this was useless, didn't tell me how to switch targets, i can have a tank right next to me, but it won't target it, it will target another tank that i can't hit or don't want to hit. i want to target the tank right next to me.

It’s not useless. You. Need to work on it. But also. If your in a case of multiple targets then you’d probably be better off not trying to use auto aim. Especially in a close in brawl with several tanks. Also. Look at what you said… “I can have a tank right next to me, but I’d won’t target it.” This is not a mind reading feature of Blitz! YOU need to aim at the target you want to hit, then ZOOM OUT, and let it. Do the work. Remember the steps. Aim and hit the target. Zoom out, reload, fire, keep moving, and continue these steps.
