Honestly? I'd just put her in Gamer-tier. Looking back though, there are a lot of NPCs in XC2 that have dark skin. Corrine is probably the clearest example (other than Perun). Aside from skin-color though... I feel the need to quote Tora from Corvin's Blade Quest: "Marcel is big racist."

@fluffystagbeetle4526 I admit Three Houses was the first one I played since Radiant Dawn, I assumed there were others. I thought I heard Robin was. But Byleth is a silent protagonist. Just as silent as Link. Link also gets dialogue options. And I don't play the Dynasty Warrior style games. That's not canon anyway. Just as canon as all the Zelda manga Link talks in. Plus he gives answers for Ness, Pokemon Trainer, and so on as well. There is just no consistency here. They are also silent protagonists just like Link and Hero.

@fluffystagbeetle4526 Me too. It's the inconsistency that bothers me. If he's going to give Ness, Mario, Byleth, Pokemon Trainer, etc, answers he should do the same for Hero and Link. They are all silent protagonists. The "can't talk" tier should be reserved for characters who canonically can't talk. Like Pokemon, Kirby, etc. I never played Dragon Quest, but Link can talk.

Smash Dedede is voiced by Masahiro Sakurai, so Dedede would not say it. Also there totally should've been a tier for "doesn't know what that means" Piranha Plant definitely knows what that means, he just can't speak. Rosalina literally would not know what racism is. Which just makes me think Kirby just had the wrong idea about Dedede from the beginning. Isn't the last time he assumes the worst of Dedede and goes after him either. I haven't played EVERY Kirby game, but the first game is the only one I know of where Dedede is actually seen doing anything bad.

@@darrenmacqueen9884His way of dealing with Nightmare in Adventure was pretty terrible though, showing his selfishness at the time by not considering the consequences of his actions or just asking Kirby for help (Meta Knight at least had the excuse of testing Kirby). He’s also rather unnecessarily rude to Kirby in 64 and plenty of spinoffs too, so it’s no wonder why Kirby falsely blames him in Squeak Squad, which is later quite nicely rectified in Star Allies.

Grits! In the case for Terry, he's the guy who everybody in South Town calls when they need help moving their couch. Just a regular cool dude that will be wrapped up dealing with a world ending threat one moment ("Another mysterious monster butting in? Wouldn't be KoF without it!"), but will will be spotted hanging out with his mates playing beer pong at the PaoPao Cafe or to play a round or two of basketball for fun. Oh, and he's also an adoptive father that is trying to raise his kid right. Yeah, he's the sort that gets invited to the cookout in my book.

When Terry and Geese had their final confrontation in ‘Fatal Fury 3’ and following his death, Rock had a complicated mix of loneliness and joy knowing that his father died. Naturally, Terry began to feel the weight of the consequences of his path of vengeance for his father, learning that Rock was Geese's son. After the tournament in Real Bout, Rock challenges Terry to a fight, which Terry quietly accepts. Though a beginner, Rock kept up the fight from day to night, as something awoke inside of him, being inspired by Terry's will to carve his own way through life positively. Impressed by Rock's fighting spirit and hoping to put the past behind him, Terry adopts Rock and they begin their travels together. While their relationship was soured somewhat after the conclusion of Mark of the Wolves (Rock learning Geese had a brother and said uncle claims Rock’s mother is still alive, etc), I’d say Rock is fine with Terry being one of the few positive role models in his life, especially when Geese told his only flesh and blood son to bugger off.

His personal skill in the Heroes spinoff is consistently just racism, giving him a boost in power whenever the user isn't using any shapeshifters on their team. ... ...Although his mother could be a dragon, so he _does_ have some degree of deniability. Byleth can choose to aid Claude von Riegan, whose goal is also ending racism, so they probably wouldn't say it, but Claude is also the type to jokingly give them the n-word pass, and Byleth is socially dense enough to believe him and say it in front of people. Ike however has called Ranulf a "subhuman" when he first met him, which is derogatory for Laguz in Tellius. Minor correction, Kirby CAN talk in the games (the anime where he only says "poyo" isn't canon). His main phrase in the games and Smash bros is "Hai" which translates to "Yes". Also, the flavour text for the sleep ability in games like Return to Dream Land and Triple Deluxe are written in first person from Kirby himself. Either way, he's way to pure to even know what a slur even is.

I think Simon and Richter are both from a time where America didn’t exist yet. So they probably wouldn’t say it in the sense that the word probably didn’t exist yet.

Funny you bring up Yoshi. Because: 1- There's some comic of about a black Yoshi dealing with racism. 2- There's a texthack for TTYD where the Yoshi Kid does say the N-word, hard r, if you have him out during the Shadow Queen intro cutscene. So THAT Yoshi would definitely say it. Although that one can be black.
