Without straws this is dangerous. Glad u got through it. The artists should be more careful though. Better to be safe than sorry.
@vozera723Ай бұрын
With straws is dangerous! it can actually obstruct airways and if somebody falls asleep it can be dangerous they can also accidentally get bumped and jam up into the nostril making a person bleed. The video is sped up they were very much clearing the bottom of the nose and making sure it did not seal around the nostril nor did it cover.
@thatgirl1887Ай бұрын
@@vozera723 The entire concept of using the straws is for extra safety aka less danger. The point of the straw is to not collapse the airways but keep them open. Knowing that the straws are in one should be super aware of that and not bump into them. If u do ur probably too clumsy to be working on something of this calibre in the first place. The straws don't necessarily need to be placed in the nose either, it can go in the mouth. Ik the video is sped up and I don't see them clearing it at all despite the video being sped up. Also I do this for a living myself.
@thatgirl1887Ай бұрын
@@JonathanMullany-fx1qh Someones client dying is hilarious to u? Ur sense of humor sucks.
@vozera723Ай бұрын
@@thatgirl1887 yeah I also do this, I guess it's different techniques. doing straws in the mouth can change your mouth shape so if you're doing a prosthetic it can sometimes come out wonky or not fit the face properly. what I see is that the person was able to breathe perfectly fine and it's not like we have audio so they could have been talking asking her if she's good and if she could breathe. I've seen many life casts being done without straws going anywhere. you also can't necessarily blame somebody for being "clumsy" there are different disorders that cause people to be more clumsy, and it doesn't really affect much motor function; just enough to where things can happen, also accidents happen all the time two people that are not described as clumsy.
@thatgirl1887Ай бұрын
@@vozera723 Definitely, it's more about what works for the individual but I've heard enough horror stories in the past as to where people have had to virtually rip their client out of there to breathe and losing all of their work in the process for me to feel comfortable putting any of my clients at risk like that and waste my time and efforts also. If a person has been awkward in their handling of their task at hand enough to the point where they bump into their client in an unprofessional manner and their client is now injured - they're clumsy. I call it as I see it. I'm very careful and aware of my surroundings while working on pieces like that because I understand as a professional that I have to be.

I did this!! Also without straws. It feels like being buried alive. Being removed from the cast feels like what I can only assume being reborn feels like. Every space on you being touched completely, it is HEAVY and you are being pressed into from every nook and angle. On your face, chest, neck, everywhere. Its like drowning in heavy water, if the panic sets in. I am personally claustrophobic, but I was able to do it and stay calm inside myself. Definitely an unsettling feeling though. If it barely covers your nostril too much, it can suck up with one breath, and make you feel like you are drowning. Very scary. Happened a couple times. I did it with fellow sculpting students in college!! I don't regret it one bit. It was super cool.
