Sometimes it also comes from the fact that they know their friends and their escapades with women and they might not trust them not to get their sisters heart broken. Speaking from personal experience this could be it

Also if it doesn’t end well, their own friendship kinda gets weird for a bit. Cause mehnn how will my brother be there playing FIFA or COD with you when he knows that his sister is in her room crying because of the same you
