My FIRST TIME riding an Amtrak ever!! Might even be the first time I've ever ridden a train in the US!!
I've always been a train riding enthusiast, because you can just chill and enjoy the views. The train also takes you through paths only assessible by train, which gives you more unique sceneries than if you drive. Since I've driven and flown between San Francisco and Los Angeles numerous times, why not try the Amtrak?!
How does it feel like to lose my Amtrak virginity?? Please watch the video and enjoy!!!
I will update my blog to give a more personal touch to my experience.

RIDE INFORMATION
In this video, I boarded the Coast Starlight which services between Seattle and Los Angeles, and I hopped on from Emeryville Station. The entire trip took about 12 hours, making stops at San Jose, Salinas, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and finally at the Union Station in Los Angeles. You can choose different types of seating:
- Sleeper (wasn't available for our leg of the trip, but available if you start your journey from Seattle)
- Roomette $307 (we paid $392 total for 2 passengers, meals included)
- Business $99
- Coach $67
*prices may vary depending on the date of departure

Thinking about the California Zephyr!!!!!!!! I heard the view for that one is possibly the best out of all the routes!! Unless you can recommend another route

heck yeah, i would ride the train. I rode from Los Angeles to Chicago and then Chicago to San Francisco. Train over Greyhound anytime. sometimes even planes.

Depends on the circumstances There are 2 bay area stops for the cost starlight Emeryville and San Jose Depending on the time of day I could be faster to take Caltrain to San Jose

Is it actually cheaper to fly between SF and LA? I always take the train because their stations are much closer to me than LAX and the trains take me closer to SF. Ohh you guys got a roomette.

You know if you get the bedroom, family bedroom, or roommate you get free meals in the dinning car. You did not have to buy stuff at the cafe car. Also how many hours of uninterrupted sleep did you get on this train?

Here's the thing with the food, that's not their normal dining. Check out the peoples trips pre-covid and you'll see a big difference.

It's not that bad, really. People really like to exaggerate about this. You just need to avoid a couple of rough neighborhoods. All the locals know where those are and simply avoid them. But overall it's been getting better even there though.

Probably the starlight from Diridon Station. Starlight's a reservation thing so you'd have to book it way in advance on the website.
