In this video we do the Mage ZG 1 Pull without an epic mount, noggenfogger, or lips! This allows you to save a TON of money while doing these pulls and still pull off some of the highest experience pulls in the game! You can also sell these runs for quite a good chunk of gold allowing this to be a great gold farm!

This is honestly one of the hardest progression things i've done. About 40 wipes rn. I went from dying to the first fishes before tree reset, to going to die at the last pack that you pull before blizzard. It's insanely hard to master for me since I'm dumb dumb but your guides really help out tremendously. I fund my own wipes from zf so it's all about progression from here on out. Ty Arlaeus.

My big problem is that at 10:49 those troll pats are on the bridge like 40% of the time even if I take my time on the pull

yea, do I have to wait for the berserker patrolling a 2nd time? Practicing at the moment and the timing maybe is right 1/6... So frustrating when you got to the kill phase already multiple times but get fucked by timing all the time.

I jump off before the bridge on the left side but bring limited invulnerability potions pull the 2 packs of crocs, blink thru the first pack than on the 2nd pack use the pot, let them all stack then nova and blink away

This is a great guide and I think everyone who wants to start learning zg farm should do it like this. No lips just mana pots and light feathers. Will save you a ton of mana. I'm now at the point where i'm practicing my blizzards on the bride. Almost got it down to prefection!

When i get to the part where you cross the bridge and walk around the hut the troll pat is always there, can't seem to pinpoint how long i need to wait cuz it can also cause issues with the zerker near the waterfall where boosters sit to be in the wrong spot. This method is great if you don't have an epic mount but using a lip is still way more consistent and you don't have to worry about that pat. At the very least carry lips on you just in case.

I think this video starts off delayed (i.e. not a completely fresh, just started instance), likely the first beserker has already patted one full length while waiting for boostees. That would explain the soulflayer and troll pat positionings

@@Aerethiel Just use the Slow Fall+LIP strategy like in the other guides, fairly sure this is not a viable method, there's a reason why people avoid the bridge with the hut

fun tip, if you jump too close to those crocs below the soul flayers and they pull just keep running up that ramp at 4:35 and they will reset eventually because they're hakkar island mobs.. just past the torch at the top usually resets them for me

I must have died like 50 times, but I finally did it. Got like 65k xp per clear at 58 and 59. I did a couple things different than in the video that I believe helped though. One of the big ones was the Blink counterspell @6:50. I find that if I get a much better lead if I jump into the water, hop a couple times, counterspell the croc, then blink onto the other side of the river.

This axe throw patrol on the last bridge to cross have more often than not been either mid or at the beginning of the bridge thus causing a wipe. I am using an epic mount and minor speed increase on boots, but I always waited for the berserker to pat a little past the sweet spot and still have problems.

idk if you know about this evade spot, but at the bridge where u rubberband adds, at the start of the bridge, between the wood post and stone foundation, you can just run into that crack and that is an evade spot

You mentioned the trinket from the mage quest for this. I found that if you use the Dire Maul mage trinket, you are getting back about the same mana if you get the average mana return from the ST trinket, over the cause of the cooldown time. And as you are almost never at full mana during the run, i suggest getting the DM trinket, as its also super easy to get your hands on :) Always a great fan of your videos, cant wait for the next one :)

Think this is doable with a level 58 and perfect timing? I've gotten the first half of the pull down but need to work on timing for the second half, I always die on the second time around going through the root that you blink through

Sometimes you can't see the troll pat on the other side of the bridge, you cross the bridge and they ambush you from the right. The way to prevent this is to make max camera distance (Leartix Plus addon or macro for camera distance) and look from your left when you cross this bridge, you will be able to see if they are behind that huge stone. If they are, jump from the middle of the bridge with slow fall.

i can reliably avoid needing a slowfall at the very first part. instead of falling after the first hut, keep up the path, aggro the adders and the 2nd hut then fall. they will get 1 ranged attack but that's it, and you can blink most the way to the walkup point from the water with safety.

@arlaeus I have noticed that if you hug the wall at the point of 6:56 in your video, the closest crocolisks actually run behind you then try to attack after you are far enough into the group to root all of them. This saves me a lot of mana and shield damage which allows me to complete this pull more easily.

Also, do NOT jump nova here if the Wind Serpent patrol is above you because you will aggro them.

Love your content. This pull will take me a long time to learn if I try to learn it all at once. I need to learn how to do the bridge part without too many mobs where If I make a mistake I'll die. Also if you could, please, do a video that breaks the pull into smaller pulls each ending at the bridge for the kill phase so it can be practiced without such a high risk of dying? Thank you!

I practiced just by making my way to the bridge without pulling anything and then just pull the one pack of crocs right near it. It's great for practicing the kill phase and jumping on the rope while under pressure.

one thing ive tried is weaving in a rank one fire blast when i do the jump onto the ropes, extra clearcasting procs, 40 mana can save you 1200, and it makes some use of the fire ruby dmg buff

The Berzerker near Jindo, just before doing the slow fall jump is often right in the middle of that area when I come with all crocs - after having immediately reset and followed instructions! Why??? I am definetely following this guide 100%, so please fix / come up with fix!

the very first "safe spot" isnt really a safe spot if you are 58. you will everytime aggro the berserker near to the spot and he will not reset.

for me, if i jump to the first safespot and not threw the tree then its fine as it seems the green plant is blocking line of sight. So dont jump to far. But further up when going past the soulflayer, i cant get that far as a 58, i just aggro the zerkers instantly as i get close. Anyone else manage to do this without aggroing the zerkers on the side?

I started learning this. I first tried this in pieces and it worked just fine (like 7pull then last 4). I died a bit, but got the hang of it after a few hours. But now I tried full pull there always is a Berserk at the top of the ramp waiting for me (ramp @8:50 in the vid). Did they change the pathing? Cause the sons of Hakkar and the first berserk are at the exact same spot/timing as in this video. ... Guess i need to wait +1min before I start the pull?

Not sure if this route works any longer. No matter how I time it (just as the zerker pats to the right or as he's coming back sneaking by him last second) either the zerker near jindo is blocking the path or the trolls are just starting on the bridge. The only way to ensure neither pats are in the way is to wait for the first zerker to make an entire lap. But that adds about 7 minutes to the run.

Can someone link me a source to what determines the Pats? I'm having trouble with the 2nd Berserker we meet (on top of the big mountain 08:58 where we feather jump). I always start at more or less the same time (when the 1st bersi walked back) but sometimes I meet the 2nd berserker then im 100% dead and sometimes it is clear. Are there any ways to avoid this ? And the axe throwers at the end get me too sometimes.. PS I don't boost so i just swim through the river on the right - jump down and basically start pulling. And I have a 60% mount.

If you are a completely new Mage and dont have any gear get the diremaul trinket. you can buy the book for (on my server) 2-3gold and get a trinket that gives you 8 mana every 5 seconds. can be valuable if you're lowlie geared (atleast better then the carrot ;))

With the previous start having the big problem of noggenfogger's rng, couldn't you kind of bypass it by just having enough light feathers with you and everytime you had to jump across, you'd dismount quickly, jump and activate the slow fall spell? Just wondering.

Why do the mobs sometime just run right through my blizzard without getting slowed at all? Causes 1 mob to split off and its super annoying to deal with. Am I missing and I can't see if because of the numbers or just getting unlucky with timing?

The bridge patrol is always there. After I did some testing, I think that the patrol actually doesn't move if they're not loaded, or there is some kind of randomness to their patrol.

I too am having huge problems with this one fucking patrol. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated if anyone has it. I've tried with so many different timings but they are almost always there.

10:20 By using LIP you mean take the usual route through the bamboo instead of walking over the bridge, yes? You didn't mention that at all, so I was confused at first. What's more, the first path can't be taken by lvl 58 characters, if you get seen by the berzerker at the first reset spot, he won't reset. Just thought I'd let others know... :)

The berserker only sees you if he patrols out. If he's not patrolled out, you can reset there. The better option is to just not aggro anything though. The trolls up top can easily be walked around. The crocs are tricky, but you can do it. If you have to, you can use iceblock, nova, etc.. to keep the crocs away until the berserker stops patrolling. It's not ideal, but it will work if done right.

On my server, light feathers are often around 60s a pop and I (very) rarely have to chug more than 10 Noggenfoggers at the start of a pull to get the slow fall buff.

The Harpy cave in 1k Needles is your place to farm them light feathers. Respawn is quick, happy times.

There is a much easier way to get to the berserker spot. Use the normal reset spot near the second boss and then just jump in the water blink through the first piranha, nova the second, making sure you are in between the 2 croc spawns and then you should be able to get into the position underneath the berserker

The bridge axe thrower patrol is a big problem for this run, it really helps if you wait an extra 10-15 seconds before you start this pull

Haven't tried this method yet but that's what I was thinking would be inconsistent. Based on the clip he's playing during this video, his pull starts at 2:30 (2 min 30secs after entering the instance, see timestamp 5:22). Maybe using the in-game stopwatch and making sure you're starting pull at that time - or at 2:45 if using epic mount would add consistency to the run in terms of bridge axe thrower positioning. I'll test it myself tonight or tomorrow

@@oakwill510 If it's not a fresh reset, then the pats could be just about anywhere. But when you are learning, you can't really reset every time, because you will quickly hit lockout. I have managed to pull out victories despite bad pats though. Usually it's sketchy as fuck, and involves double frost nova to keep them off of you.

I feel there is some rng to this. I have started my pull when the berserker is at excactly the same spot as yours, but the patrol has been on the middle of the bridge. When I started later, when I jump up from the water after pulling the last mob where you turn right, I have pulled the son of hakkar. My solution atleast when the pat is on the bridge is to just jump off to the left of the bridge and skip those two last packs. Need to find a solution for son of Hakkar, tho.

You don't need to skip them. You can veer to the left of the bridge, pop a light feather towards the left edge of the temple at the base, and simply counterspell-pull the one pack to your right before heading to the bridge to kill-phase. It sucks but sometimes those damn axe-throwers are too far behind and there's just no other way around this that I have found. In those cases, this way you at least get one extra set of mobs. GL! :)

Great stuff. Quick question: I counted four Light Feathers for Safe Fall: 1) 2:25 2) 6:12 3) 9:20 and 4) 11:14. But at 11:38, you said you only used two. Did I misunderstand something?

Tested this on 1 june 2021 on a boosted mage with communal gear at 60 - still doable. Kill phase takes longer, but an average run ~17 minutes for me. There is a learning curve to it. Doable at 58 too.

Always good tutorials but also I feel that there are always details I have to figure out my self. For instance, the reason why you have to hug the wall at 7.05 is that if you don't, you'll just slide down into the water, and that will usually cause certain death. I tried many times not to use a feather on the first jump, 9/10 times the fish will kill me before I manage to get over to the other side. Apart from all the little details, these tutorials form a pretty good baseline.

Hey mate, have you ever looked into trying to AOE pull sunken temple? I remember seeing an obscure video where a mage killed two bosses and then pulled all the dragons below. Might make for an interesting venture since edgemaster's can drop from a lot of those mobs!

Hey I tried both today and they don’t work. Undead female cannot boost ZG because of this. :-/ Even tried to combine it with elixir of giant growth. Didn’t help.

Making a new post for people to get the information. Undead female cannot do the jump during kill phase on the bridge. It works sometimes and there is a way to make it more doable but the risk of not making it is high each time. I tried using noggenfogger to become a male skeleton, didn't work. Also tried Deviate Fish to become human female, didn't work. I also tried elixirs that make you larger, didn't work. If anyone knows how to find a way around it, please post a reply.

Unfortunately this is not doable at 58 with this pathing like the video states Even at 59, you agro berserkers while in the 1st reset spot and near the Soulflayer

do your own weak aura its easy just do /wa - new icon - select your desired effect - activation tab - set clearcasting in the auras that proc it ez

I have this method down to a T, but it's always a hit or miss for me bc of the axe throwers @ 10:40, everytime I get there, they're either on the bridge or by the tree. How on Earth am I supposed to time my pull perfectly so that they're not in the way of my pull. I would have so many clears under my belt by now if it weren't for those DAM axe throwers! UGH

It’s 9 croc packs. The only reason people are saying it’s 11 is because the tigers can be pulled in 2 groups. It used to be called a 10 pack pull until some KZfaq video considered it 2 separate packs for the clickbait. Now everyone is buying into the 11 pack name.

To reset the instance do you log out and onto your alt and reset and get all the people you are boosting to log out as well?

I'm having serious problems with hugging the left wall before blinking through the tree, if I'm the slightest bit off I'm falling into the water. Should I be running on a slight angle towards the wall? I'm a Male Troll and I feel like my model is too big for it?

Just run slightly angled into the wall.. Or you can try strafing to the left while also running forward

I just managed to kill 3 packs (separately) for training purposes and got 0 loot. Is this normal? Like why even bother if the Bijous are only 1-3g each and the coins 40-60s at my server?

Do you ever experience mobs not resetting and running back around the bridge once your on the rail? This ALWAYS happens to me and ruins the whole pull? Thanks

this happens to me often too...did you ever find a fix? I've tried standing at different points on the bridge but that doesn't seem to help

2 of the 3 times I attempted this, the axe throwers were right in the middle of the bridge. Seems unreliable but still able to save a lip or two.

You are going too early. You want to let that berserker pat go further down the road before you start. If it's not a fresh reset, then yah, you might get unlucky. One thing I tried doing, and actually managed to do somehow, was to look for those guys, and if they're there, just don't dont go across the bridge. Use a feather, and jump right back over towards the temple. You miss a pack of crocs, but it's not certain death.

@@genestarwind928 yep this. i always do a fresh reset to guarantee spawn locations. make sure you dont start your first mounted pulls, until the zerker has made it to the L turn by edge of madness, and that should guarantee other good pats.

Can you do this at 58? After the first reset spot when you run across the temple and the sons of hakkar, I either pull the giant trolls on the left or pull the gators on the right. The trolls are instant death and the gator follow me across the water and mess up the rest of the run...

Ye... When breaking it down he does one thing, when showing full run he does something else....... If you keep pulling the son of hakkar, you need to stay in the watrer and crawl back up at the next pack. I learned this the hard way (7-8 times)

How do you avoid agro the fish?!?! 60% of my runs the fish i might agro while jumping on to the root, will pull and then track me unto tthe birdge where they will murder me from the water....... This happens WAY to often... How TF do i avoid this?
