Fun Fact: Earth Spirit was the hero who had the least time between his creation in WC3 DotA and porting to dota2. A number of heroes had existed for 8+ years before they were ported to dota2. This was because a few months after Earth Spirit was created by Icefrog, dota2 had a themed "Spirits" update that remodeled Storm Spirit (rip fat mexican uncle) and ported Ember Spirit and Earth Spirit. Their WC3 models were the three pandas that split from Pandaren Brewmaster.

My favourite hero to play! Some tips: 1) double tap D to drp a remnant directly in front of you when you want to use roll or kick. 2) use ur ult on even the small ganks, it's not a huge committment - ur ult's duration refreshes every time you drop a remnant near an affected unit, and any debuffs that are applied to a magnetized unit are applied to all other magnetized units. Ex: slowing one magnetized unit = slows all magnetized units, regardless if the slow connects on them or not! Love this content, hope you play Earth Spirit some more!

Stone remnant doesnt have a cast point or "delay". The moment you spawn a rock the unit is already there and you can immediately can cast a spell and it will use the rock. The animations are just aesthetics.

earth spirit is probably one of the most nerfed heroes in Dota 2 history; his 3rd ability used to be able to pull allies by default before being changed like 5 times. I have fond memories of missing everything on my first game playing him, as does everyone I think.

This is my second favorite hero to play. I'm definitely bad at earth spirit but my god, it's so fun to play. You go in, you set up the fight, and then gtfo, specially when I have aghs. Kinda sad I haven't experienced the version where boulder smash had stun.

You can self-cast to place the rock in front of you. Also, you can use Q to target a far distance, ES will just kick whatever infront of him to the direction of your cast (you dont need to click the rock). Also, you can use item and skills when you roll (place the rock during your roll).

The skills per level for different heroes give different power spikes, so sometimes certain heroes get a mini-spike at level 2, some around level 3, and some either level 5 or 6. Just a small detail, but significant in early game laning.

When you said "I feel like the Heroes speak to me" that is true because I have found that if an Item is really good on a hero then they will have a voice line that goes with that Item. Axe will announce "VANGUARD!" for example.

one of the most useful things to know when playing earth spirit are that double-tapping (or self-casting i.e. Alt+D) will place a remnant directly in front of you - so you can do D-D-Q-Click to instantly place and kick a remnant i think a lot of other people like playing with remnants on Quickcast because he has a lot of inputs otherwise

my favourite hero to play. you were impressive for a first time, took me dozens of games and pro replays watch to get a solid grasp on the hero's potential, and even today after almost 500 games I still learn. as a tip, I'd like to say the essence of earth spirit is target selection. best to think what is the best target for each spell and not stack disables. this hero's gameplay changes a lot, early you want to gank and start fights, later in the game you want to counter initiate and get in the enemy's backlines to shut down supports. in this draft your team was doomed because earth spirit is not the late game frontliner sniper and drow needs to be effective, but impressive still! and taiga is one of the better guys to coach you on earth spirit.

This hero's play-style is reminiscent of how a mash-up between HotS' Junkrat and Muradin (with Haymaker) would look like. It seems that there's many ways to set up and use all those boulder. For instance, isn't it possible to hit many boulders with a single Q and deal several times the damage? Also, I was wondering if it is possible to use several skills simultaneously and become a sort of Jedi master, using the force for pulling and pushing boulders all over the place... The way the skills are worded doesn't make it clear if this should work or not.

Use W first, then very fast D(double D click for non quick cast) this will make stone right next to Earth Spirit before you roll on it). I prefer to use quick cast so i have 2 buttons for stone remnant, D for stone under cursor and F for stone next to hero. This is probably my favourite hero, you can't really feel him unless you play at least 30 games. I don't play dota anymore, but mechanic of this hero can bring me back anytime) Sorry for bad english, not my native lang.

@grubby This hero is actually easy. Self cast remnant, puts a remnant on your hero. Use this for Q and W. W, self cast remnant, easy life, easy game. ES has one bug that I hate. Ally units override your remnant for pulling, sometimes not wanted. Make sure you dont kick a bolder directly, you can position your cursor over a enemy unit and ES will find the closest remnant to push(q). Easy peasy..

Grubby with earth spirit you just need to alt+d not necessary to do it with your mouse xd

Ngl I feel cringe while watching, but I also feel educated on how new players do things. Like randomly pressing buttons, engaging for no reason, not pressing all buttons, and all the other small things constantly irk me, while grubby is like "wow look, morph transformed into me. poggers". Really eye-opening.

I would never play earth spirit because I'm a pussy and I hate getting flamed esp during ranked games... It really gets me down after every match.

If you play earth spirit next time, consider buying aghanim early, it provides a super strong skill that sometimes can change the game :))) you could also skip bkb for agh in some situation

Why would anyone level force field on Disruptor lvl 1? You are trading the games most damage lvl 1 spell for a hard to hit, 1 second barrier...

hard hero and standard to lose first game - i have to say though it was painful watching you try to cs. He is a melee hero so just always buy a quelling blade as a start item as his base damage is pretty low (you even mentioned this at the start). Love your content. - big fan.

Dont say techies is toxic they change him u should see him good old days just see this view of game in your mind you are losing and enemy is mega creep old techies have a talent that can move his bombs now they change it :( and what u do then u stack 26 red bomb as 1 bomb and boot under tier 3 tower +26 more red bomb for tier 4 tower +48 bomb stack for ancient then all u need just a creep to remove back door protection old techies was good as base def now they make it more fight type hero as i play i have 266 game as techies with 72.4 winrate
