which one is about the pain from coward lennon beating on his women? ..yep... see, some people worship woman beaters, (weird pathetic, .and sad).. I guess it is all how you were raised...see.,, like most men who beat women, they were raised witnessing domestic violence ...if you saw your mama get beat up alot, you probably give lennon A pass .. but if you never saw your mama get whooped all the time, you probably DETEST cowardly woman beaters, like lennon and would certainly never , ever praise one or hold them in high regard. Lennon and Gary Glitter fans are very similar. thank goodness instant karma put down that cowardly dog in the street .lol

The Beatles were the most influential artists of all time. The fact that their message was LOVE is phenomenal. They could have told the young people of the world that anything ..standing on your head... was the answer. But John Lennon chose to say LOVE is all you need. They didn't waste their time and their fame on trivial things. They didn't sell seats on BOAC airlines. They didn't sell Coka-Cola or Ford Mustangs like Namcy Sinatra. They stayed positive and sold PEACE in a time of WAR. As the song fades, John sings "I want you to make love, not war. I know you've heard it before." Throughout the song he keep reminding us that we already know this stuff and it's not hard, in fact it's surrender "You gotta let it go"

One reason John Lennon is so missed is that there is no voice today that is saying quite these same things. "Love is the answer," "faith in the future," "raising the spirit of peace and love" - where is that kind of hope and leadership in pop culture today? Whether from a musician, movie star, TV personality, or internet influencer, you just don't hear these sentiments anymore.

The shot of the ladder in the video represents the first time John met Yoko. It was at the Indica gallery, where she was having an art exhibition. At the top of the ladder there was tiny writing on the ceiling that you needed the hanging magnifying glass to read. It said one word, Yes. John saw this, was intrigued, sought out the artist, Yoko, and the rest is history…☮️❤️

I heard a really great quote from John years ago that I don’t have the context for now but here is what I found: The complete quote from John Lennon is: "I can't wake you up. You can wake you up. I can't cure you. You can cure you." It's a powerful message about self-awareness and personal responsibility.

No 9 Dreams, Working Class Hero, Stand By Me, Jealous Guy, MInd Games etc. Maybe because the Beatles songs where he was lead singer also left such a mark...Norwegian Wood It's Only Love, You;ve Got to Hide Your Love Away. Lennon was a very special person, not only because he obviously had huge success with The Beatles and wrote some great songs. But he was uniquely intelligent, honest and brave. Watch interviews with him, you´ll see he´s very sharp and very raw. He had alot of darkness in him from his upbringing, but he tried to make it into beautiful art, he tried to use it to change himself and the world for the better. If you look at what he proposed all those years ago, that he got SO MUCH hate for, most of it is normal today. He was ahead of his time, which of course is very dangerous.

John was invited to an art showing so he decided to have a look. When he got there all he saw in the art pieces was negativity. He was on his way out when he saw a step ladder. At the top of the ladder was a magnifying glass and a tiny word written on the ceiling. He climbed and looked at the word and it simply said "Yes". He said that was the only positive statement he had seen there. It was Yoko's art piece and that is how they met. Yes is the answer, and you know that for sure.

By the way: "Yes is the answer". John Lennon met Yoko Ono in a gallery in Soho where she was having an exhibition. He looked around and was not particularly impressed. Then he saw a ladder standing in the middle of the room. There was an object hanging from the ceiling with a small, illuminated glass pane in it. Nothing else was visible. John climbed up the ladder and looked through the small pane of glass. And there he could make out a word: Yes! That totally thrilled him, even for Yoko. And so this beautiful love story began. 💝☯☮

When he was singing about the word and positive power of “Yes,” if you notice, you see the top of a fold out ladder near a ceiling, and on the ceiling you see a piece of paper with the word “Yes” on it. That was in reference to the day he met Yoko at her art showing at a gallery. The ladder and note was one of her installations. John climbed the ladder and saw the word “Yes” written on it and it changed his life. A few minutes after that he met Yoko in the gallery and was so taken by her. The rest is match made in heaven history.

He was also such a great lyricist, his word play, there was no one like John who could match him for his lyrics, except maybe Dylan. @@jaylevy2108 Very much agreed. John's delving into his own childhood and damage encouraged many people to see doing that as: useful, important, "normal" and valid, as well. I never thought the greatest aspect of John was "love" (he certainly passed-along his own pain to his son Julian, for example!), but rather: honesty. As one of the first "worldwide celebrities" (outside of political theatre, etc.), he was in a completely odd, completely heretofore unknown position (along with the other Beatles, of course, and many of those who rose to prominence in music, just after/in concurrence with The Beatles) and he, bravely, attempted to: have others see him/know him "as a real person" (which is probably sociologically impossible, but: valid and important, nevertheless!). I think this was one of the great influences he had on his generation and many to come afterwards, as well!

@@chrisoakley5830 It is more the tone and cavalier language which is bothersome. Since Mark David Chapman did not come from NY but traveled across the country to k&ll him, I don't blame NY for it. It wasn't the best place on earth in 1980 and cities gotta city, but that's like saying it is Pizza Rat's fault! NY didn't do it. MDC did (or if you want to believe crazy conspiracy theories, the FBI actually did it, but I am not going there).

33 years before the book "The Secret" was written John wrote this song with lyrics about how a positive outlook and positive thoughts are the answer to happiness and will lead to unity and love. The lyric "YES is the answer" is a nod to his wife Yoko Ono's art piece that brought them together originally.

I think John was a very unique individual in many ways, but he had an ability to put forth his message, regardless of any controversy, and still not alienate fans. He was like a worldly pundit who just happened to play guitar. ✌🏼😎🇺🇸

John Lennon's songs felt very authentic: snapshots of himself at his most vulnerable moments.

John Lennon obviously needed a lot of love, since his childhood, and Yoko Ono wasn't so sensitive, she pushed his music to sing and seek for love again and again! He really needed mind games with people!!

Wish you guys had some Beatles photos on the wall behind you! Great video! One of my all-time favorite videos of yours, and I do love so many of them. I actually got a little choked up by the message and beautiful music. John Lennon is probably my all-time favorite musical hero. He was also such a powerful force for peace and love. He lived his life with such a passion for creating good vibes in the world.
