It's the same singer, Vince Neil, as your other Crue reactions. This is from their first album, Too Fast For Love. It was their first video. They were not nearly as polished and produced as their next album. Personally for me, this is their best album. Every song is great. I would love to see you react to more Crue from this album.

I do not know if the other 50 plus year old's (I am 51) feel this way, but I have always felt lucky to have been a teen in the 80's and to have experienced all the music that came with it. The MTV thing was still really new and fresh. They brought the bands in to your living rooms/bedrooms as where radio only brought the sound. We could now not only hear the bands but see them as well and for me it made me feel better connected to the bands. Especially Motley Crue and the other metal bands of the early 80's. Maybe I don't understand todays music, but I feel the kids today don't get that connection like I did when I was a teen. I will say this, I see you young people who are doing these great reactions to the music I grew up on starting to connect to the bands like I did and that is so awesome. Thank You guys for the reactions and please keep them coming. 🤘🤘

@@rickjensen1636 Nikki is pretty well self taught but many of us learned a little from Rudy. What many people don't realize is Blackie helped Nikki and Crüe by giving them a handful of his pre-WASP songs free of Royalties. Nikki was part of some of Blackie's bands "London" and "Sister". Blackie gave Nikki the boot from the band when it was clear Nikki had an addiction, but because he always liked Nikki, he gave Nikki a copy of their demo's, some songs written, taught him the flaming boots stunt and sent Nikki on his way.

I actually think that without Mick and Nikki there’s no Mötley Crüe; Mick’s guitar riffs and solos are so unique, Mötley wouldn’t be Mötley without it… in addition to Nikki’s great songwriting… John Corabi in the 1990’s did a good job “subbing” for Vince, but once you read the name “Mötley Crüe “ on the album cover, you immediately changed your mind; this band could be anything with Vince or Corabi, but it would never be Mötley Crüe without Mick and Nikki

Yeah but lately Nikki really dropped the ball on his bass playing. Using fake ass play-back on live shows!!! Meanwhile John 5 plays every riff just about the way Mick wote and recorded them. John 5 is keeping this band together on tour.

Nikki was never a great bass player . He failed an audition for Quiet Riot because he didn't know what he was doing Everyone that knew him in the early 80's all says the same thing . Mick Mars is the reason the riffs have the rhythm they do . Nikki couldn't do anything without him . He wrote the lyrics to his credit . And took credit for the full songs

This is from the first album, which was not much more than a demo they ran with. The stripped-down production really allows Neil's vocals to shine. This, like many bands first albums, is my favorite for its raw, pure passion and it is when a band has the most it still has to say. Sometimes a band becomes "professional" and has so much polish that the lyrics get overlooked for the smoothest rhyme.

*Saw them in 1983....this was the first of their songs I heard (it was released as a single). So yeah...the difference may be; this is the earliest of their released recorded songs. It was on their first album, Too Fast For Love, so I bought the album. My last Pit Bull's name was Motley. They had a different singer in the 90's. But this is, the original, Vince Neil singing. Nikki Sixx is on bass. Mick Mars on guitar...and you likely know Tommy Lee is drummin'.*

As others have said, this was from their first album. If I remember correctly, they produced that album themselves because they couldn't get a record deal. That's why the production values are lower, which is probably the difference in sound that you noticed. Motley Crue only had a different lead singer for one album. Sales dropped off huge, so they got back with Vince and he's been their lead singer ever since. I think the only music video with the other singer is "Hooligan's Holiday" and it is actually a really good song. Worth checking out if you want to see the difference. You know when you're watching the other singer though. He got black hair and a nose ring. Definitely looks nothing like Vince. You mentioned the bass player Nikki Sixx. You may want to check out his other band SixxAM. I think you'd both love their first single "Life is Beautiful."

Fun fact: The first time they came to Minnesota I saw them at my hometown Met Center on the Shout At The Devil/Bark At The Moon tour with Ozzy. They were jumping off 6' speakers and going insane while Ozzy just sort of paced the stage (he hasn't changed in 40+ years.) Since he sounded like a record, we just walked around trying to score a bag. Turns out that halfway through the tour Ozzy found a different opening band to avoid being upstaged every night.

The lead vocalist is Vince. With the exception of John Corabi on the one album in the early 90's, it's been Vince. The bassist is Nikki Sixx. The antics he and Tommy Lee (drummer) pulled are stuff of legend. Also, Nikki died twice from heroine overdoses. If you read the book "The Dirt", you'll understand. If you watch the Netflix movie "The Dirt", you'll get a watered down, but still effective idea. "Live Wire" is off their first album in '83. It was raw and was actually released under their own label until Elektra Records scooped them up. Their next album "Shout At The Devil" had a better sound mainly because they had more money for production. Later edit: Correction. It's '81... not '83.

Nikki Sixx is the bassist. The song Kickstart My Heart is about him overdosing on heroin and almost dying. In 2007 he formed the band Sixx A.M. and released their first album The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack. The concept album serves as the companion soundtrack to Sixx's autobiography, The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star and is about Sixx's severe heroin addiction in 1987. The songs Life is Beautiful, and Accidents Can Happen are two really good songs worth checking out!

Rob & Amber, thank you for your channel. I have checked out a handful of other channels but I keep coming back to you two, irregardless. I love your pure love and excitement when you hear new songs. What i do feel sad about for your generation, which is my son & daughters generation, is that you will probably never experience in person (at a live concert) is, what the 80's and 90's bands have brought. Live music. No studio created stuff on electric equipment. When you heard Steve Perry, you were absolutely correct! LIVE voice!!!! I hope you both have done further research into the metal/ rock bands that you have come to love. So many of the original founding members are gone. Yet they still carry on, in honor of their beloved brothers, nephews, uncles, etc. I listen to the music my adult kids have grown up with and as well as my grandchildren. So much is studio creation. Finding an artist that can acapella in this time, is like trying to find a unicorn or Bigfoot. Please continue your channel on KZfaq because I rather find it refreshing instead of watching anything on Cable TV. The difference you're hearing is the raw recording quality. Since this was their first studio album there wasn't much budget for the more polished recordings they made in later years. Because of the rawness of it Too Fast For Love is one of my all time favorite albums.

Finally some more Mötley!! Thanks for this!! You should do it more often and please check out Too Fast For Love from the same album as Live Wire, and then Home Sweet Home, Wild Side, You're All I Need, Same Ol' Situation, and of course Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away).

This was the worlds introduction to Motley Crue and what an introduction it was! Too Fast for Love, in my opinion, is one of the greatest debut albums ever dropped by a band! Damn I miss the 80's it was a blast! A few songs that you need to listen to would be: Primal Scream, Saints of Los Angeles, White Trash Circus, & Too Young to Fall in Love!

Awesome as always guys!! Cool story…. My dad was in Vegas at the Mirage playing blackjack. He told me he was playing at a table with a guy with a lot of tattoos, and he had a really good looking girlfriend. Anyway, it was just the three of them playing blackjack for about 4 hours, and my dad kept commenting on how nice they were. It wasn’t until they left that the dealer told him that he’d been sitting next to Tommy Lee and Heather Locklear! I was so pumped to hear that.

Ahh, those memories... 1984, my first big concert! Råsunda stadium, Stockholm, Sweden. Mötley Crue, Van Halen and AC/DC... "Monsters of rock"! Came in to the arena to see Tommy Lee´s drums, goosebumps. The concerts were like the best breakfast, lunch and dinner - with AC/DC´s cannons finished the show... Magic!!! Thanks guys for this one, and for always being the best!

Hey Jay and Amber, the only time when Mötley Crüe had a different vocalist was when they released the album that features the song "Hooligans Holiday", which had John Corabi on lead vocals During that time Vince Neil released a solo album which featured the song "You're Invited (But Your Friend Can't Come)" which also appears on the soundtrack of "Encino Man" starring Pauley Shore and Brendan Frasier Both of these albums didn't sell well and so Mötley Crüe fired Corabi and brought back Vince

The difference is that they were still young and hungry when this debut album was released. This album was one of the first true hair metal albums, and was as raw and unrefined as the band itself.

These guys where 20/21 here. This is their first album that they recorded and released themselves before being signed to a major label. Nikki Sixx, the bass player who has his legs on fire, he used to do that at the shows they played on LA's Sunset Strip like the Whiskey go go. The singer would squirt rubbing alcohol on his boots and throw a match on them. Poor man's pyrotechnics. This same year they got their first big break, they toured as opening act for Kiss for about six weeks if I remember correctly. Their next tour they opened for Ozzy in 1983/84, The craziness from that tour is legendary.

The base player is Nikki Sixx, the Man is Motley Crue. He started the band, writes most of the songs, the leader of the group. All four members are on the centre stage not just the lead singer. Great music considering they do not have that fourth member usually on rytham guitar. Great trio (Vine holds a guitar in same ol situation lol it's more of a prop).

Dude, if they had a rhythm guitarist, it would be FIVE members; drummers do count, in fact, if it wasn’t for Tommy Lee, Mötley Crüe would never be the same… take Guns n Roses for instance, they’re made of five with a rhythm guitarist… now take Rolling Stones, they’re made of four without a rhythm guitarist, only Keith Richards… just saying

Motley Crue were a product of the L.A. music scene that had produced Van Halen in the 70's... The Sunset Strip was where bands came to play and build a fanbase, hoping to get into the music business. Ratt came there from San Diego... Poison arrived from Pennsylvania... Axl Rose and Izzy Stradlin came from Indiana... They all wanted to be a part of the scene. Bob Deal had been a guitarist in the scene since the 70's, and had never got a break; he joined Motley Crue as guitarist Mick Mars and that was when his fame began... Frank Ferrano came to L.A. as Nikki Sixx and started playing bass for various bands... one band he joined was London (which Slash of GNR had also played in), a band that failed to get signed. Around 1980, he saw another band called Suite 16 and met drummer Tommy Lee... he decided to form a band w/ him... They saw an ad in a newspaper for a guitarist, and that was guitarist Mick Mars introduction to the band (Mars later named the band 'Motley Crew', but they thought it was cooler to spell it Motley Crue)... Singer Vince Neil had gone to high school w/ Tommy Lee, and was in a cover band; Lee recommended Neil for Motley Crue, despite not being a great vocalist, but he had the stage presence and charisma to draw throngs of adoring women to see him perform. This was Motley Crue's first album 'Too fast for love' in 1981, recorded independently and released to fanfare... Motley were showmen on stage, wearing heels, spandex and faminine makeup, w/ big hair - Nikki Sixx would light himself on fire... Vince Neil would destroy mannequins w/ a chainsaw... that was on display in this video In the first year, they were selling out L.A.'s biggest clubs. In 1982, they were signed by manager Doc McGhee, who got them a record deal w/ Elektra Records. 'Too fast for love' was remixed and released... this music video was made to promote Motley on the new MTV channel, and they even opened for Kiss on a rather dismal tour... It wasn't until 1983 when US Festival was held in California, Van Halen was headlining... Quiet Riot was on the bill and they killed their set, setting themselves up to get a #1 record 'Metal health' on the US charts... Motley Crue played that day, but were apparently awful, but won over the crowd somehow... their 2nd album 'Shout at the devil' went gold, then platinum... eventually selling 4x platinum (4 million copies) in the US ('Too fast for love' eventually went platinum). With Van Halen riding high in 1983, Quiet Riot w/ a #1 album and Motley Crue taking off... Suddenly, record label who ignored the L.A. scene for decades, started signing a plethora of bands that had been working the scene for years... Dokken got signed to Elektra... W.A.S.P. signed w/ Capitol Records... Chrysalis signed the band Armored Saint... Great White signed w/ EMI, as did the Red Hot Chili Peppers... Ratt eventually signed w/ Atlantic Records. That was the start of the 80's glam rock domination of the rock scene.

This is from the bands earlier years. That's why they sound a bit different. More early 80's. You can see the same trend with all 80's metal or hard rock bands. They went more and more "pop" in later 80's. More and more commercialized.
