What else can you say about Stevie, other than he is a musical genius. He was signed to Motown at 11 years of age and was writing songs at age 13 for artists like Aretha Franklin. In a Motown documentary it was said he carefully studied every musician in the house band, the Funk Brothers, until he learned how to play nearly every instrument. He is a national treasure. Thanks so much for continuing to delve into Stevie. 👏👏🥰🇨🇦

I met Stevie at the Billboard Awards and he was so kind. He was sweet enough to give me an autograph, it's by far one of my most treasured. Stevie was my first concert I was around 7 yrs. old at the Apollo Theater. The Temptations opened. He is truly one of a kind. A genius.

Stevie Wonder is so named because he is a musical genius, piano, drums, harmonica, etc, not to mention his voice. He has this amazing range and rhythm and he can go from rock to soul and everything in between. If you haven’t yet reacted to Overjoyed, check it out. His voice just rolls smoothly from note to note effortlessly with such grace and style like you are being caressed by his voice. It’s one of my faves of his repertoire

My blind cousin went to the Michigan School for the Blind in Lansing MI, my hometown, WITH Stevie Wonder, and I never knew until decades later!! Always loved this record because it was jazzy. Jazz chords, a complete stop in Tempo, NO ONE was doing this on pop records at the time. Because it was Stevie, he got away with it when everyone was using 3 or 4 chords, same tempo all the way through their songs.

He's my favourite solo artist. I'm very lucky to have seen him in concert 3 times over the years, and he's just so talented. In terms of the stories you mentioned, Stevie has a great sense of humour - he used to pretend to fall over and people would come rushing to help him get up, assuming he was totally vulnerable being blind, but instead he would be laughing on the floor lol. If you like this one, I think you would love his song All I Do.

Stevie, great writer, musician, and for me most of all, great vocalist. Stevie Wonder has vocally mesmerized & influenced generations of would be singers like few have done. I'm not sure, but it seems like being blind increased his level of soulfulness & musical insight. To me, although Stevie is primarily looked upon as an "R&B" artist, he's not your (average run-of-mill) R&B artist, because if you listen to enough of his music, he seems to always take an R&B idea an give it an "unusual" twist as if to (Stevie Wonderize) it, or as I have often said, perform R&B but approach like a "Jazz" musician with some "outside" chord or a unique vocal flip etc... That's how I view the genius of the gift of Stevie Wonder......Anyway, Good reaction!

It was nice to see you both respond to the key change at 4:55, when it shifts up a half-step from F to F#. This always gives a feeling of "lift" to a song, and Stevie used it in some of his best songs, e.g., "For Once in My Life," ""My Cherie Amour," "You Are the Sunshine of My Life," etc. It's an arranger's trick that can sound hokey but Stevie always does it so subtly that you're not aware it's happening, but are swept up in the feeling, and buoyed aloft.

Very underrated song from Stevie Wonder with Syreeta Wright doing background vocals. I like how the song kept switching tones. This song is from his 1971 album where I'm coming from, which is the album right before the start of his five album classic period. I hate to sound redundant but Stevie Wonder is a musical genius. With songs like you and I, You Got It Bad Girl, Golden Lady, sunshine in their eyes, Superwoman / where were you when I needed you, birds of beauty, it ain't no use, Isn't She Lovely and so much more, y'all just beginning to scratch the surface with Stevie.

One of my very favorites by the greatest R&B/R&R songwriter of our era. Try "Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing" next for more great up tempo Stevie.

Fantastic. There are still other songs to react to: "Don't you worry about a thing", "Master Blaster", "Isn't she lovely", "Higher ground" and also the duet with Ariana Grande in "Faith"

He was so young when he sang this tune. Who knew that, in the 70’a, he’d release one classic album after another?
