I have this projector, the best way to reduce lazer speckle is to use a white screen.

Precisely what screen would you recommend for this projector? Can it wireless connect to a pair of bluetooth speakers for front left and right separation if used outdoors, not being able to connect to dedicated surround set up? Thank you for a great review.

Hi Brian, thanks for the review! I know this one and the C1 S are not in the same price range, but they sure seem to have similar performance. So I'm sorry for asking that, but how do they compare in terms of image quality alone? Thanks!!!!

Hello and thanks for the helpful and informative review. As far as i can understand, this projector is a good choice for someone who can't afford to buy a screen, as the laser speckle is not visible while projecting on the wall, but only on screens, right?
@ProjectorScreen
@ProjectorScreen 7 ай бұрын
The laser speckle is less noticeable when not projected in a screen. Even considering the speckle, this is a great projector and the one that I most commonly take with me on trips due to its high brightness and amazing integrated gimbal stand.

@@ProjectorScreen Thanks for your answer. I am now really considering buying this projector, but do you have any recommendations for a screen that would reduce the laser speckle? Is a pull-down screen good enough in that case?

Hello Brian, what's the maximum screen size (1.0 gain) would you recommend to get the best image without compromising on the quality and detail?

I have not tested this on anything larger than a 120" right now and can say at that size I saw no difference in sharpness or detail.

If using this for an outdoor projector, what kind of screen would you recommend?
@trendyprojectors4743

Remember to consider the mounting method for your outdoor screen. Some screens come with stands or poles for freestanding use, while others are designed for hanging from trees or structures.

have it and I still 5 complaints: rainbow effect on white pieces in dark scenes; it doesn't read flash drives or HDD from USB :( ; the black lines on the sides even in the complete dark are still grey; if there wasn't auto-keystone correction on Gimbal it would have been really hard to set the auto-keystone via the menu (Android on it is also laggy); while fan noise isn't that load (still hear it) but the power block noise when in stand-by is bad...

What are your thoughts about XGIMI Horizon Ultra?

While it doesn’t have the handy gimbal of the JMGO, I would pick the XGIMI for its superior image quality.

Brian, so many other reviews want to like this unit BUT they all say the laser speckle is off the charts when used on a good screen, some say the Formovie X5 is a better choice because of the lack of laser speckle. What are your thoughts between these two projectors as you sell both and might have received dome feedback?
@ProjectorScreen
@ProjectorScreen 9 ай бұрын
I wouldn't call it "off the charts", but it is certainly noticeable, as it is on all triple laser projectors. The X5 has some advantages as does the JMGO N1 Ultra. Because I use these types of projectors more as a portable unit, the gimbal design of the N1 series is really the best I've seen on any lifestyle projector. It is super versatile and easy to get setup while on the go. If I were using this primarily as a permanent projector, my decision may be swayed based on the environment (lighting, etc).

I have this projector and have adjusted the screen size to perfectly fit my screen. However, there remains a very noticeable amount of “bleed light” that still shows up way beyond the adjusted screen size (i.e., the default large projection area before adjusting down to the screen size.). I don’t see anyone else mentioning this. What am I doing wrong?
@ProjectorScreen
@ProjectorScreen 7 ай бұрын
Are you using any sort of keystone or geometric correction, or did you physically place the projector in the right location to fill the screen?
@droeber
@droeber 7 ай бұрын
Hi, it's permanently mounted on the ceiling directly in the middle of the screen. The projector-to-screen distance is about 13 feet and the screen size is around 7' x 4' or roughly an 8' diagonal. The only correction deployed was to reduce the image to fit the screen using the 4-corner adjustments in that particular projector setup section. I have all the other auto-adjust screen settings turned off. This is my 3rd projector in this exact location and have not experienced this with the other two (both were Epsons).
@paulmorrow8372
@paulmorrow8372 7 ай бұрын
@@droeberyou may have figured this out, but this projector does not have a mechanical zoom. The optics are fixed. If you use any kind of keystone correction, zooming, etc. what the projector actually does it make the pixels outside the viewing area be black. This also lowers your effective resolution since pixels are “wasted” just displaying black. This is why you are getting light bleed. You really want to projector placed where no image size adjustment is necessary. In your instance it sounds like it may need to move closer to the screen.
@droeber
@droeber 7 ай бұрын
@@paulmorrow8372 Hi, thanks for the detail. That makes perfect sense. Since it is not practical to move the projector closer to the screen in my particular setup, I found a $5 solution. Through a little trial and error, I applied black gaffer’s tape to the projector lens “framing” out the bleed light. The lens is now framed down to a small rectangle sized exactly to the projection opening needed. Kind of disappointing that I had to do this, but it works well. I learned an interesting lesson about digital zoom vs. optical that will be first on my list to review when it’s time to replace this unit some day!

Hi Brian I have a UST and I have a dedicated batcave for it. I'm confused on what screen to get I know you can screens suited for UST. But what will give the best picture in a batcave? Would a white screen be best?
@ProjectorScreen
@ProjectorScreen 9 ай бұрын
I am big fan of the Stewart Filmscreen Greymatte 0.7 surface on their Wallscreen UST frame. It is great for both UST and standard throw and it's thicker bezel absorbs any halo from a UST but doesn't get in the way of the UST light and cast any shadow on the image. It is also legit 8k+ quantified and ISF certified. Hit us up at team@projectorscreen.com and we'd be glad to send you a sample to test out.

Thanks for this Great long awaited review, Brian. Several questions 1. Will you do a comparison of the JMGO to the new XGIMI Horizon Ultra 4k lifestyle projector. 2, I'm concerned about this new chinese CVIA rating for brightness originally spec'd at 4000 lumens. I have a room with lots of ambient light. How does the reading measure up in comparison to ANSI lumen light measurements. 3. How does the Laser Speckle of this JMGO triple laser projector compare to the UST triple laser projectors like the Formovie, Hisense PX1 Pro and the Awol 2500.
@ProjectorScreen
@ProjectorScreen 9 ай бұрын
1. We plan on it! 2. The CVIA rating seems far more in line with what we actually measured and from the 3 brands that I work with that have adopted it (JMGO, XGIMI, Formovie), it is pretty accurate with what we have measured. 3. The laser speckle is noticeable. The Formovie Theater has the best anti-speckle technology of all units that you have mentioned but it is inevitable with any triple laser projector.

I just bought it and there are two major flows : Laser speckle is out of control, whereas JMGO claimed a 95% speckle reducing technology (it’s fake, no other projector has worse laser speckles). Secondly there’s NO brightness cursor. NONE ! That’s just insane. Blacks are often way too dark even with Gammas at high levels. On a dark hair person you just see a dark mass. I expected more, and it’s crazy as it’s easy to fix. That’s just software.
