Well, a Wow developer posted on twitter recently they're actively making lists in real time of content for the game they literally can't get done in time for when it's needed due to a shortage in staff due to people quitting. I'm assuming end of expansion in-game cut scenes are on that list.

Remember in TBC after beating Kil'Jaeden you get a scene (and not even a cutscene like this) where Velen comes down and talks and gives some history and lore around Kil'Jaeden and the Naruu? It was far simpler back then but you got so much more.

I think the cinematic is fine. It gives me a moment of silence where you think about what the dude was truely after and in the end ebyssian was right. Only death is what they found and wrathion and Sabellian realise this in their own way by their expression. This is the power they where after and they saw what it did to Sarkareth. They understand now that this is not what they want and they should finally let the past rest and not chase after the old ghost of their father and step out of his shadow. The cure to find something that makes their flight great again Was not something they would find in the past. Its in their future. They need to forge now a better flight than Neltharion did.

Its really not that hard to understand the answers to the questions they were asking after the cinematic if you just, i dunno, read all the quest text and watched all the main story cinematics and whatnot up to this point. If you have larger unanswered questions, maybe, just maybe, the larger story of the expansion isnt done yet and you dont know how the story ends because it... Isnt... Over?

Writing in games and films have been getting worse and worse. Doesn't help that writers tend to have a huge ego and absolutely cannot take criticism so usually the only thing that can lead to positive changes is if they get replaced but sadly these days even that rarely happens for some reason. We just went through this with Destiny 2.

Man what happened to the people that made the Legion cinematics? Those were so good. BFA also had a lot of great cinematics, for all that expansion's shortcomings. I get that the idea is to have to story develop further with quests, but this is just anticlimactic. You spend a few hours in the raid and struggle immensely on the last boss just for that... They could have not done a cinematic at all, and just had that be his dying animation, it would have been less of an issue, because at least there wouldn't be a cinematic to criticize, nor an expectation when the cinematic starts.

This should have been his death-throes like with the lich king not cinematic.

I'm gonna have a take. Quality is FINE, what Blizzard lacks is quantity. They need to not waste all the production money on once-in-a-few-years but cool ass cinematic, but reveal MORE story in more numerous cutscenes, like with Sindragosa in Azure Span. Problem with wow is that it has stuff to say but only ever says the most barebones bulletpoints in its storytelling and never any deeper than that. Like this dracthyr who died in this cinematic, they did NOT flesh out his story AT ALL. Why didn't they make more cutscenes with him fleshing him more as a character rather than what he was, just a cheap idiot who, when everyone is like "oh we gonna be a part of something cool" goes like "UMM ACTCHUALLY I WANNA BE A PIECE OF SHIT" and goes off on his own? That made me absolutely not care about him, and think his story was an absolute cheap throwaway 'we need a generic villain'...

I'm more surprised people care about this instead of skipping it. Make your minds up, people.

WoW went downhill a loooong time ago tbf, i was hooked since vanilla upto BfA, glad i managed to break the addiction chain and took to long to do so xD But WoW will always be in my heart! I got way to many fond memories of the place over the years

the lines used in that cinematic sound like the death voice lines the average video game boss says after you kill it without a cutscene. like they couldve literally removed the cutscene its self and just had that line play while the boss was going through its death animation and you would think its any other boss, not some end boss... wtf
