While hiking in NH as a kid with my family in 1966. I found a Indian Head Penny on the trail. It was in bad shape and couldn't make out the date. Just recently I decided to clean it with a lime/rust cleaner. I was curious what the date was all these years. I wasn't concerned about ruining it seeing how bad it was. It actually removed the corrosion and the coin was left in beautiful shape. 1875 after all these years. Even a G-4 is only $20. Was just happy to finally know what the date was.

The 1916 Belgium coin may have been brought back by a soldier in World War 1, bringing a handful of foreign coins was common for soldiers back then.

The 1916 Belgium 5 cent was the German occupation issue since Belgium was still only a sliver of land with Ypres being the only bigger city to still be in Belgian control

That Indian Head looked like it might be a rotated die error! Compare the orientation of the obverse and reverse dies in relation to each other!

Proof is a special striking that they used especially for collectors. It has mirror like surfaces.

I gotta say... I know my pennies and 1904 isn’t that rare but... it is compared to wheat pennies cause most Indian heads in that decade range from like 40 million to 60 million but that is crazy to get an Indian head out of a box where you are expecting the gamble to be over wheat pennies. ;)

The best place to find sealed Penny boxers is at the bank but there is a national coin shortage and because of that it is hard to get sealed boxes but sometimes you can be lucky and get a couple boxes good luck

i did a quarter roll and dime roll hunt today pulled a 1967 bobcat quarter person behind me was doing a hunt to he eneded up getting mad and whisper to his son S@#T we should have went to a different bank i ended up getting the last of the customer wrapped rolls in terms of dimes... the dimes were a bust but my count is 34 dimes and 4 quarters
