I think there's one thing you should understand about morality that this rendition exhorts on, that man should Not be the judge, jury, or executioner of our own kind. We are not gods, even if we seem to believe so when we take and control lives. It is because we are apex predators that it becomes natural for us to believe we are so, however, you're sorely equipped to judge others when you yourself violate the very moralities of what we consider good or evil. And this is why I don't believe in good or evil. There is only causality, what you do and say will have an adequate consequence and reaction. Sin is a concept made by man, just as government was fabricated by man, and neither is flawless since they are made by man, as anything created by man can just as easily be dismantled by them. What is wrong or right is just to ensure that we follow basics rules of the social contract, to keep order and prevent the chaos that occurs in this video. We as a species don't like chaos, as that bring fear and is antithetical to our survival. Our brains and body can only manage so much, that's why we specialize and compartmentalize into fields of expertise. We depend on each other for we find ourselves lacking alone. And this specialization is how society is formed, and why we're an apex predator instead of dying due to infighting, not that this isn't a constant threat already. Points to take away from this: don't worry so much about morality, only violate the social contract if you become above it, like those who are rich, powerful, or influential. The social contract is made for the populace, to enforce order, and inadvertently, control them, becoming judge, jury, and executioner. And this is why the understanding of this video is so important, the entities take away people, but they are not people. They are stronger than us, not created by us, and are the new apex predators. They are essentially a threat no different from aliens, but they don't understand what a social contract is and so do whatever they please. This warps our fundamental understanding of what is and what is out there. You can call them gods, but gods follow a social contract, this is why they are gods and why we worship them. Essentially, if you want spirituality, then follow something that wasn't constructed by man, yet still follow our social contract. If it's made by man, for man, it's flawed and tattered since you are not better than the next person. You can try to catalog it with thousands of years and from millions of perspectives, but at the end, it's still from another person, who like you, is flawed and can therefore be cracked like a sheet of ice on water.

One thing I learned from that movie was, that God has never given us free will or the right to choose. If the bible is to believed, we gained our own self from eating the apple in the garden of Eden, for which god exiled us from it. In case of the movie, it was a newborn baby marked as a sinner. I agree with you, that some people do horrible things with good intentions. Sometimes we aren't even aware of it. So punishing someone for that would be unjust. The responses they elicit from humans in all the Abrahamic religions are pretty consistent on that, except for a few key angels such as Gabriel (of Christianity). So no, we'd be horrified for sure. Angels literally have to re-assure humans that they aren't there to harm them, in holy texts, because of how horrified *faithful followers* are of them. Also, angels have a myriad of forms and a morality far beyond human understanding (if they exist, anyways). They would and have slaughtered humans without remorse, just as their God did. Try not to forget about the Angel of Death that slaughtered every firstborn child in a city. And do remember that there's an entire subsection of angels designated for "warrior" positions, with Archangel Michael often being described as the leader of such himself. And the war that is fought in the end times, spoken about in Revelations (it's such an interesting read, especially if you aren't Christian). So, this would perfectly fit with ACCURATE depictions of Abrahamic religion. The more propagandized, media-safe depictions of angels wouldn't fit, though.

I think that nowadays with modern technology surviving the beasts of bloodborne would be pretty easy considering that guns are clearly effective. I'm not so sure on the cosmic lovecraftian horrors though...

I'm sorry, but single combat with blades? I don't mean to attack you but I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that you have no real world experience with sword-fighting. There isn't a single person on this planet, not even the highest level of masters, that would be able to engage in a fight with one of these things. It's just not physically possible. They move too fast, with too much force and they have too much reach not to mention that your attacks would likely do very little if any damage and you can't aim at joints or fatal points. Movie sword-fighting is 99% choreographed fiction. Anyway, I think you are overthinking this. Just because they are affected by the physical world doesn't mean they can be killed or hurt by it. For example, they are able to walk in the ground and smash things. This requires physical interaction with the world. But they are also able to phase through objects and disappear. This implies that they aren't bound to this interaction. In other words, there is nothing to suggest that they can't just simply shrug off any physical attack or let it pass through them or that they even have any vital areas that could be hit or destroyed. They might be projections for all we know. It may very well be that the only reason they smash things up around them/interact with the physical world at all is for the fun of it and to make it flashy. In a similar vein, why even announce your kills? That being said, if you want to test out a military response this is quite easy. You know exactly when and where they will appear which gives you all the time and opportunity you need to set-up a kill-zone with the condemned person in the middle. Explosives, turret emplacements, tanks, anything you want can be pointed right at the person.

First of all, I don’t recommend attack their bodies, but instead aiming for the eyes, which when onscreen, they are shown to make an effort to protect, which means obviously, they can come to harm. Also, these things are not that fast, their size and movement is cumbersome at best, relying on momentum to move forward at high speeds. When they swing downwards with their arms, it takes about 2 seconds for the action to be completed, which is a lot of time. I’m not even in great shape and when I preform the same action, it takes less than a second to complete the movement. An actually fit individual, with training, and experience, would probably be able to avoid attacks from ONE of these creatures, in fact, this is probably why they move in packs, because even a normal person could avoid one of them at a time, at least, for a little while. I understand that, of course, most people would still die in a fight against one, however, all of my points made prior are valid, they shield their eyes, they would not do so if they could not be damaged, also, they clearly require effort to preform the actions we see, and are not as fast as you make them out to be.

Like maybe it's just scary to run into a wall and so they avoid looking at it. It could be entirely instinctive. Maybe they shield their eyes as part of phasing through in the vein of 'if I don't look at it, it doesn't exist'. Or a million other explanations. As for the reason why I'm saying tendons and vital areas, that's because those are the areas you would target with a sword. Your goal in any kind of martial arts is to disable your opponent. Anything else is a waste of your time and energy. And the eyes of these creatures are definitely out of comfortable sword reach, maybe you could try with a bladed polearm but even then you wouldn't necessarily target that area without exposing yourself to risk. And believe me, as someone with both sword fighting and martial arts experience, I can tell you right now, with a 100% guarantee, that no martial artist in the world could fight one of these creatures one on one. Just stepping into the zone necessary for you to attack is entering a kill-zone that you will have trouble getting out of even once not to mention multiple times. These monsters move a lot faster than you give them credit for and you can not block or deflect their attacks which is a staple of any martial arts. Even with sidestepping you are again getting into a reach issue. In sword-fighting there is a simple rule: all else being equal, the person with the longer reach will always win unless you are able to close the distance. And closing the distance only works because you are then able to lock their weapon while trying to attack yourself. You can't lock these monsters. You can't side-step them. You can't block or deflect and you have to watch out for two weapons (+ feet) at the same time. And any attack you perform against the is unlikely to phase them or reduce their combat capability. Sword fighting is all about controlling your opponent and in this situation you don't have any control. In essence, fighting these creatures is anathema to everything martial arts. I cannot stress this enough: a real human has no way of engaging these creatures in close combat, no matter how skilled or fit they are.

Besides someone else’s suggestion of offering themselves to the military so they can nuke your location, however that would not be realistically possible, since they can simply leave human reality through portals which humans cannot see. The best bet for killing one, is to look at the one and only potential weakness they have shown, their eyes. You believe I do not give them credit for their speed, while I believe you give them too much, on those points, we certainly disagree. However, you are coming into this as a martial artist seeing a fight where he wins and walks away victorious, such a thing is not possible. I am viewing this as a final desperate act. Goading them into a situation in which you can close the distance, and as they end your life, grant you a single chance, a slim one, but still a chance, at taking one down with you.
