I forget where I saw it but this reminds me a lot of a post I saw once that was one alien warning another to make sure they bought a pet for their human crew member as if you didn't they would often find one themselves or if they can't find one, they would make one, often with interesting results.

worse are the humans todlers while can pack bond with theme, they have the additional abilitie of finding and puting themself in harms ways or just trouble finding them thus attracting a "little" bit stronger care and protection from whoever is taking care of them, so bewarned you see a human todler somewhere with potential for danger, well make sure you are not the danger, make sur to not be a potential target of total extermination.

The trouble with these SF fairy tales is they are ALL so biased in their rendering of wonderful humanity. You & I know humans can be ugly & monstrous as well as "nice". If you want a more balanced viewpoint read Oomphel in the Sky by H Beam Piper (1981)

It’s a nice story, but I don’t think that’s likely. There are simply to many misunderstandings and conflicts between humans, and also to much xenophobia. I don’t think that we would be exceptionally good at bonding with other races.

I think the humans that actually are willing to travel into space are likely to be much more open-minded and enthusiastic about the idea of meeting and dealing with ETs. You can't judge a race by the hide-bound idjits that stay at home to hide in caves. Nor can you necessarily judge a race by the more open-minded members trying new ideas and adventuring out to see what's over the next hill. Yeah, there are chances for misunderstandings, but if you're dealing with a space-going race that has already met other species and is somewhat knowledgable about the possibilities for communication oopsies, you can expect the ET with experience to be more willing to try to teach the enthusiastic newcomer about what horrible insult they just did, and see if you can teach them to not be quite so insulting.
