Well after watching your videos (and several others) I ordered the Clayton 2.5 overland today for my 392 , I want it to retain or improve on-road drivability as it's my wife's daily driver, after researching all the components it looks like if I want to upgrade to 3.5 inch I would just need new Clayton springs (relatively cheap) and change length slightly on the control arms n track bars that are coming in the 2.5" , I did confirm my 2023 does not have fox shocks but rather a mopar Rubicon shock, so I also ordered a set of falcons, along w falcon steering stabilizer and the yeti sector shaft reinforcement , going w mickey thompson baja boss A/T 37 inch tires .. thank you for sharing your experience and time with us viewers! Ps. We are from michigan and visit silver lake sand dunes once a year or so, be cool if y'all put out a notice informing us (your subscribers) of your next visit to the dunes so some of us could come out and have a good time w y'all

That’s a good point, it’s relatively easy and cheap to go up with the lift if you decide you want it to be higher. That should be a nice setup you ordered. Be sure to let us know how you like everything once you get it installed. We will try to plan a time when we are going to be at the dunes and post about it! Last year was the first year in a long time we didn’t make it up there.

Thanks for the video! I've ordered the same kit. I'm going to keep the stock 35" tires and stock bump stop configuration to use the lift as an up-travel enhancement. Your video helped push me over the edge to do the install myself.

Curious to know what stayed the same from a standard rubicon. I know the 392 got front springs from the gladiator Mohave and the rear springs are from the 4XE.

I’m pretty sure the control arms and track bars were all the same, just different springs.

I didn't see any videos to post my question so I'll drop here What is your take on the 8hp75 bypass valve addressing the oil temperature until the thermostat opens? Living in the north seems ok during Winter utilizing the stock thermostat. Though Spring/Fall & Summer is where my concern is for the clutch packs and hot oil due to the thermostat function. Replacing the clutches at 50,000 miles rather than 90,000 miles speaks for itself.

Looks like you may have installed your rear track bar upside down, the bump needs to point to the floor to clear the 392 exhaust. Note the orientation of the stock one while it’s being removed in the video.

It’s a little stiffer than factory, but no teeth chattering at all. Honestly, to me it’s the perfect ride. Stuff enough for better handling without compromising comfort.

Great video - any thought on things would have been for the 392 with Xtreme Recon Package - I mean the XR is an inch higher (maybe just due to 35 stock tires) and has stiffer suspension than regular 392s - Will Clayton make it more firm ?

Thanks for the video, im doing my research to lift my 392, after hours and hours of videos, forums and Facebook group research ive decided on Clayton's, still trying to decide on 2.5 or 3.5 lift , couple questions for you, can you confirm yours is not the xr package? Assuming its not, how does the 3.73 gears handle the 37's ? And did it come w fox shocks? Mine is a 2023 and im almost certain (im not home to go look) that it does not have fox shocks, thanks for the video and your time

You are correct that mine is not an XR. It does great with the 37’s and definitely doesn’t feel like it needs a regear. Our new 392 we built is also still on 3.73’s and is running 40’s! Now I will say 40’s is pushing it and would benefit from a regear, but I’m not rushing to do it. With 40’s we went with the 3.5” lift and had to do some wheel well cutting to make it clear. I’m pretty sure both the 2021 and 2022 came with Fox shocks.

I have a 392 on order with the extreme recon package and I am wondering if the 37" BFG KO2's will fit without rubbing. Anyone know?

They should fit, if anything you may just need to remove the fender flare extensions.

I think it would work, but you won’t have much room for flex. The 3.5” would give you more room.

@@biggru4114 we are still running the stock shocks. We also have not added any bumps yet, but they did send us out a set of 392 specific bump stops.

We had Jack stands under the frame and used the jacks to move the axle up and down.

Looks like they need to make a dedicated 2.5" lift for 392 Wranglers to get more than 1 inch for all that work..

Here's a stupid question. You said you put a 2.5 inch lift on it. Is it 2.5 inches more than stock 392 height? Or only 0.5 inch higher than stock 392 height?

So this kit was designed for a diesel Rubicon and would lift that 2.5”. The 392 Rubicon is already lifted about 2” so we knew it would not gain 2.5”. What we ended up gaining was about 1.25” up front and 1” in the rear.

Seems like a lot of money and work to gain only 1 inch of lift. Also, having to cut those threaded rods yourself shouldn't happen, they should be precut at the factory for each specific kit. Thanks for the great videos.... I'm loving my 392 !!

Having a proper lift was worth it for an extra inch, but trust me the ride quality and better handling is 100% worth it!
