well... I made a few mistakes. I think my first mistake was trying to save some money on the wrap. I bought some lower priced and presumably lower quality LOL wrap from eBay. I think the second mistake that I made was getting a super glossy wrap instead of a matte finish. it seems that the real shiny rap shows every wrinkle and speck of dust. I guess I could say it was a learning experience LOL.

@@dkllc6874 Well, it all depends. I'd say 3-4 years is plenty long, I would certainly hope I would have bought another car within that timeframe.... Longevity really does depend. First of all, on the quality of the vinyl. If you buy your vinyl on eBay, it likely won't last as long as you would have liked. But if you spend the money which 3M/Vivid/Avery wrap cost, it will likely last very long. It depends on the guy wrapping your car. If he is inexperienced or is using a poor technique, in particular along edges & corners, the wrap will soon start to peel. If he's a pro, only the very tight corners will start to peel after a couple of years. In general, weather does not affect the vinyl. But if you park your car in strong sunlight, that's really the litmus test for the guy who wrapped the car. The first day in strong, warm sunshine is the test. If your car was wrapped by an experienced guy, the wrap will be perfectly fine after being toasted in the sun. And it will continue to withstand sunlight. But if your car was wrapped by an inexperienced guy, the sunlight will wreck your wrap. The wrap will shrink and peel. You will see lines of the original colour shining through along edges, and the corners will peel. I myself did a crappy, rushed job last month. I ran out of time, and the car simply had to be finished by bedtime. I cut a few corners, even though I knew it was wrong. So instead of dismantling anything, I carbon wrapped the inside door handles/arm rests, center console and wing mirrors as they were. I knew it was crap, but I prayed and hoped it would be alright. I couldn't fold the wrap along the edge of the console, so I just cut as precisely as I could around that edge. Same with the mirrors, I just cut the vinyl along the top edge. I was surprised over how neat it looked. It lasted until next afternoon, where the car got back, now with chrome shining through on the center console, and the mirrors made me laugh. The carbon wrap had delaminated completely, just hanging like deflated balloons under the mirrors. So what I'm saying is IT DEPENDS ! -Get a pro to do the job, and it will last 3-4-5 years. Probably 4.
