||Wrapping up our busy Alaskan Summer|| Pond, Dirt Work, & Cold Storage for the Toys

In this video we finish building Aarons road, we raise all of the area around our shop and bailed gravel and finished our pond for the season we also put up a 20x40 cold storage building

I watch loads of Alaska channels but no one has as much heavy machinery! You guys can literally drive anything. It all looks ready for the snow! Looking forward to the moose hunt now. Good luck!

Looks amazing great job as always please just be careful with your dogs around all that heavy equipment they seem just to close to the machine all the time running around would hate to see them get seriously hurt all it takes is one second looking the outher way or something else just saying put the dogs in the house till it's safe to run around take care

If you was to put your second conex away from your first conex so that you had enough room inbetween the two you could put your camper in between the two conexs and then put a roof over both conexs as a single roof and then you would have a nice building to keep the camper in when you are not using your camper and it would also be out of the rain and snow!!! Before we built are big pole barn that was actually how I thought about building a big shelter/ barn and it would definitely be much cheaper to do one that way also!!! I was planning on actually putting a conex on top of another one so that I would have plenty of height also!!! Plus if you was able to make it wide enough you could also put snow mobiles, 4wheelers, 6x6x and anything else that you don’t want out in the weather you could put it under that also!!! Plus it would help give you more room in the shop also!!! I always thought that using even two conexs and putting a roof over the two of them would be a cheaper way to build a barn or storage area!!! Just an idea for you!!!

Definitely looking awesome for sure!! Yes the way you ended up doing in between the two conexs is kinda how I was talking about!! I would have made the roof go over both the conexs though and a little bit taller that way you could use above both conexs as a storage area out of the weather also but definitely nice being able to use what you had and that is definitely the way I would have done it also!!! It would definitely be nice though if it was tall enough for the motor home to fit under and out of the weather when you are not using it!!! Helps them last a little longer I think also!!! Awesome video once again and I can’t weight to see the next video on how well you all do on your hunting trip this year!!!!!

The gravel is better than the pit run I got from Chena Pump Rd area. Saving a huge amount by having the land and gravel on site. It’s coming together nicely.

Ya I couldn’t believe what the gravel cost when I did the foundation for the shop last yearit was more then $20k. So I decided the pit had to go in or I’d never actually have what I wanted if I had to buy it

Good work! As a german facility manger with 30 years in the buiss- I would ask to cut down all trees that can fall on your house or the building. Often lightnings hit such lone standing trees and then it falls burning on the house or falls burning on the floor and the house starts to burn.Why dont you cover up the foil outside the walls of the house? The sun destroys the foil it get drey. It must be protected from sun...the oil in it gets rotten. Also a slate or metall is a fire protection because foils burn fast! Frank from Hamburg Germany

Glad you like the vids We will be covering the walls with metal eventually, this house is being built out of pocket so we can only afford so much. I put the wrap on the house to help protect the sheathing until I get the metal on. You are definetly right about the trees I just don’t want to cut them all I like the way they look

You made great progress! Cant wait to see how your hunt goes! Good luck! Do you think you’ll have issues with your conex trailers with snow pack on the roof? The new structure looks like it will push more weight of snow to the roof of each conex. 🤷🏼‍♂️. Thanks again for sharing your videos!

I understand. Style is OK but often it kills buildings and financil- dreams. I saw that happend.Such a tree direct by a building works like a magent for lightnings! Often the tree brakes in the mittle and then it fall on the structure and brakes it. The Look? You live in a dream forrest surounded by wunderfull diverend trees there is no need for such a risk.@@diyalaskanlifestyle

I live in the city of hamburg. We have a big harbour. Cons can handle tousends of tons they are one over the next in 30 layers or so of course the heavy onces first...but the structure is strong can handle 5 meter snow load. @@ccarterrun

@@ccarterrun I don’t think I need to worry about the snow load I don’t think it will slide. What I don’t like is all the water when it melts is going to run down the connex’s under the covered area. I’ll see how bad it is this spring I will prob come up with a gutter to keep the water out.
