I volunteered in 2022 WRC in Zagreb. We were told to never question the guys with "Media" markers and that if they want to stand in the middle of the track, we need to let them. The organisation is definitely not to be blamed for the guy running across the track as those guys have full freedom to do what they want and all the responsibility falls on themselves, not the organisers. Great video btw!! Great day for racing!

yeah but are guys like those that make a country lose his rally. so yeah, the organisation need to put the media guys in their place, so they dont fuck shit to others

Yes, volunteers should assume people in Media tabards know what they are doing and don't stop them on the stage. At the same time they should report such cases to the rally HQ who then would tell appropriate action. That is why media tabards have very distinctive numbers on them. Also worth notting that accidents with media people are less trouble for organizers than accidents with public, but they are still a bad thing.

@@czajla usually the judges/marshalls are in charge of those kinds of things (orange vests). We as volunteers (yellow vests) were there to keep the crowds safe and were told to leave “Media” as they “know what they’re doing and are responsible for their own safety”. But I get what you’re saying, I just haven’t been told to write their numbers or anything if something happens. I do hope this goes unpunished as it could have been really bad
