Ralph's problem wasn't just that he was a bad guy. It was that he was treated like dirt by everyone in his game and everyone was afraid of him. He knew his purpose in the game, he just wanted people to treat him better.

What he means is, “You were created to be the antagonist of the video game, but this does not automatically imply you are an evil natured individual.”

The fact that this is a REAL scene in a DISNEY movie where Kano, Bowser, Clyde, Eggman, and M. Bison all in the same room is still mind blowing to me

This scene doesn’t get enough credit. Yes, there are jokes, and it’s cool to have all these characters in one room, but the group therapy is played pretty straight. The humor comes from the personalities, not the support group.

It's interesting that Clyde is the one that leads the meetings. After all, out of all of them, he's the one that's been doing this for the longest.

This is why the first wreck it ralph is better than the second one.

I love how realistic and detailed the animation’s nuances are. The way Zangief puts down his drink, the ninja constantly in “attack” position, and how the blue witch is comforting the purple rhino when Ralph said he didn’t want to be the bad guy anymore.

*the idea that robotnik and bowser actually have personal struggles as the "bad guys" is about as much character development as I've ever needed from a disney film*

What makes this scene even better is that Nintendo told the animators every detail that was necessary about how Bowser, King of the Koopas, should hold and drink his tea. So much detail and though put into a very underrated movie.

I wish Eggman had a speaking moment in this film.

All these villains seem so nice and friendly outside of their games and it’s strange because normally some of them would do very heinous things.

Ralph's intro and this part IMO is easily one of the best beginnings to a movie ever. In 5 minutes we're introduced to the main character, given his motivations, feelings, and beliefs, and made to sympathize with his plight, and it's all done through a medium that makes the giant exposition dump that it is not feel like an exposition dump. I love the expression on Ralph's face as the pledge recitation ends and the camera pans to his face. You can tell that whatever he expected to get out of the meeting, it didn't meet his expectations. He looks lost, almost haunted, even. He truly feels trapped in his own life.

Kinda bummed they couldn't give Bowser something say cause his voice is badass on the games, but the fact that Nintendo actually let one of there beloved characters in the movie is good enough.

Man the stories Bowser could tell. "I'm getting sick of this whole Mario comes to save the day thing guys. I mean we've done too much! Between the parties, the sports, and the endless battles in paper form, space, and my gajillion castles, i'm swamped."

I know he’s referred to as “Cyborg” since Disney can’t reference Mortal Kombat too much since it’s too violent for their audience, but I gotta say as both a diehard Disney and Mortal Kombat fan. It was so awesome seeing Kano doing his heart ripping fatality in a Disney movie. I’m surprised Disney got away with that actually. Also, holy shit. The Axe Zombie from The House of The Dead is there too. This is awesome!

Sooo, we just watched a scene, in a DISNEY movie, where a character literally ripped another character's heart out, on screen, and in plain view, said heart is also still beating and dripping with. . .blood? Best. Disney Movie. EVER!

I feel terrible for Ralph and the fictional villains, because they've been treated like crap for a long time, because it's how they are designed to become their roles. But without villains, there will be no fun without them.

Honestly out of all the villains bowser is treated the nicest by his in game counter parts. He gets invited to party's and gets to go go-cart racing.

Even though the film's moral was to accept who you are, or in other words, "be yourself," which can be really overused in many other movies, books, TV shows, and other forms of pop culture, I actually have to agree with Ralph on this one. I mean, who else would be fed up of living the same life over and over again and yet gets no respect nor any love after many years of being like a black sheep/outcast?

It's actually sad that they didn't actually want to be bad but the game scenarios made them bad. And if they stop being bad, the series will stop. And then the game will be forgotten. They have to be bad in order to make the game Continue. They are bad guys. But that doesn't mean they are bad guys. That's deep.

I love how apparentally, the reason Zangief is an antagonist in Wreck It Ralph even though he isn't necessarily one in the games was because the director was salty as hell getting beat by him back in the day. Best form of seetheium imo.

I love that when zangief was talking bowser sort of rolled his eyes and shrugged. He didn't express much, but those eyes told a whole story of "Yeah I've been there, questioning; pondering, wondering why". It's the small subtle things that make the biggest impact in animation :D

There's something magical to me seeing Bowser and Eggman in the same room fully rendered and animated. Honestly wish we got an interaction between them. I would've LOVE to see them talk about things like how much they hate Mario and Sonic and why they wanna take over the world. Kind of hoping Wreck it Ralph 2 will give us that

Really, Bad-Anon had it right. And Zangief made a good point. However, they explained it to Ralph rather too unclear for Ralph to take it to heart (although he gets it at the end of the film). And Clyde took his time and explained it further, Ralph would have understood. Things like: 1. "Ralph, your job title may be called Bad Guy, but it doesn't mean that you are a bad being. Job title is just that. A title that comes along with a job. Off the clock, you are not a bad guy. None of us are. The world may not understand that, but as long as you yourself understand that, it's what really matters." 2. "I know that you don't like your job, and there's nothing you can do about it (otherwise, you'd be going turbo). However, understand that you are a VITAL part of the game, since a game cannot exist without you. Perhaps you can explain that to your NPCs. Even if most will not understand, some of them will, and that can only change things for the better." 3. "Even if others don't treat you well, as long as you acknowlegue to yourself that you are a decent guy in your own right, you will be able to find peace."

You know a movie is great when you’re rewatching it as an adult having not watched it since you were a kid, and it still holds up very well.

As simple as that sounds, it is really deep “Just because you are bad guy, does not mean youre a bad guy” everyone makes mistakes and just because everyone else paints you as the villain, doesnt mean thats who you are

Sure, this scene as a whole was amazing- Just a beautiful crossover of videogame characters in 1 room casually talking together- but for me it was 2:40 onward that made the scene so surreal. It really made them feel "alive". The room suddenly stopped being a brightly lit room. The neon rims flickered on- That was the maze. Disney/Pixar not only modelled all these amazing characters in beautiful 3D, but they also made the entire MAZE. and they did it RIGHT, too. The very next scene shows the full maze, and sure enough, it matches the game. Everything's there, all in the right place. The sound effects are perfect, the colors are beautiful, but the coolest part is how alive it feels. The scene is through the lens of the arcade cabinet. Everything's blurry and pixellated. But behind that NTSC lies actual cognitive characters with feelings and emotions. It's just a beautiful concept to think of.

Wow, I just realized something. 0:34 Three of the most iconic villains from three of the most iconic video game franchises are sitting next to each other. That is awesome. Man, I love this freakin movie.

Ralph’s problems were all caused by how he was treated by the characters in his own game. He’s literally the second most important character in the game but they treated him like a homeless loser.

This was a great break to the generic group of villains trying to force the redeeming one to stay evil, they didn't want him to stay the bad guy because he liked him like that, he wanted him to stay the bad guy because that's his role in the game, if he defies it, it would mean everyone in Ralph's game would loose their world and be forced to live like Q-Bert who also lost his game

Using a zombie was literally the only way possible to have Kano do his thing and still keep it family friendly
