Oh, Jared, you can be so proud of what you have accomplished with this car. Turning this totally wrecked and distorted 356 back into a driveable and for sure unique car is really something you deserve my true admiration for. One of the coolest 356es around for sure with her significant battle scars. Great job and greetings from where the Porsches grow.

Wow! I started watching your channel when you began the FJ40 Land Cruiser, but I have to admit the Porsche quickly became my favorite. You have no idea how excited I got seeing this last video and watching you drive it. Really. I had to have a conversation with myself telling myself that it made no sense to get that excited as it is “only” a KZfaq video. Simply awesome! Your channel is great!

The wait is over!! I've been looking forward to hearing the motor wind out and see this beauty back on the road. Another fabulous classic saved! Love what you've done and enjoyed your silent build videos as well as the recaps. I am learning from you for my own restoration, in progress. Hope to meet at a local show. Congratulations on your achievement with this bit of auto history. Sehr gut!!!

The prfessionalism !To clean and adjust SOLEX carburettors with twin chambers , to mount them on the engine and to revive it, that is ART. You talked about replacing the 6V on-board electrics with 12V, somehow I didn't notice its replacement on the silent video, probably my inattention. Otherwise I was amused by the barefoot handling of the car. A safety offence here in Europe. So I wonder what a world without internal combustion engines will look like when electric cars rule the roost, they certainly won't need SOLEX carburetors tuned. Maybe artificially generated noise to make them audible!

Fantastic job Jerod! One of the reasons that I like this car so much is that it is so far removed from anything that I have ever worked on. Not saying that I couldn't do it, but if I did try, I hope that I could put as much attention to the research and detail that I have seen here.

Amazing video man! Your videos have helped me with my own 356B T5 project. One thing I was wondering for this in particular was that I noticed you didn't put any gasket sealant on the fuel pump's main gasket. I am never sure where to apply sealant especially if it already has a gasket so just wondering about your reasoning here. Congrats on getting it running!
@Jerod_Helt
@Jerod_Helt 3 жыл бұрын
I try not to use too much sealer. Gaskets should be able to seal just fine without it. But if it’s something that’s really hard to get to and I don’t need to take it back apart for any reason I use sealer. Otherwise I give the gasket a chance to do it’s job. I can always come back later and add sealer if needed. Also sealer doesn’t hold up well against gas so I don’t use it to seal anything that holds fuel👍
