Michaels's sells are a litmus test. If he COMICALLY oversells, he wants you to look like an idiot (Like Hogan). If he oversells like a workhorse, it's because he wants you over RIGHT NOW. If he no-sells, he wants you gone. At least, I think that's how it is in his head.

@@AdeptusCaeiusIII Michaels not selling the Nash power bomb is probably and absolute accident, however. It's well known that Nash doesn't do the power bomb correctly and puts the receiver at high risk. KZfaq Kevin Nash or Diesel, and look at how for (in front of him) he sends the person power bombing. Kevin Nash never loved the sport, it was just a job for money and getting ahead for him. It's also because of him that Rey Jr. was unmasked at WCW in a stupid, uneventful match. That's why I don't think that awkward sell was on Michaels end. The way he lands (if he did it on purpose) puts his ankles and spine in big risk--I don't see him putting himself at legitimate risk in order to sell a basic finisher.

I agree, everyone so worked up about that one moment. To me it looked like HBK was trying to selling it as a concussion, which is more believable, when people get knocked out they don't usually lie on the ground not moving for 5 minutes, they tend to pop back up surprisingly quick as if nothing was wrong and then they fall over again and the concussion affects become really obvious. Look at any of the real concussions that happened in wrestling, the guys were always back up and botching moves due to their dizzyness within minutes lol.

I saw the Ultimate Warrior vs. Triple-H match. I think the Warrior's no-sell of the Pedigree was part of the match script as The Warrior went on to win the match. Otherwise, it would have ended in a count-out or disqualification of some sort. The one thing I love about Undertaker selling the RKO is how he jumps with Randy so they both look like their floating for a split second before dropping to the mat in devastating fashion. it's like when Brock Lesnar sells a chokeslam. he gets mad height and almost slamss his own body to the mat to make it look like he just go dropped by Superman.

The botched Jacknife Powerbomb landing at 3:57 wasn't really Shawns fault I don't think. Nash stepped to the side and also kinda ducked under it not allowing Shawns legs to go over and be stopped by Nashs shoulders and therefore cancel the rotation. If Nash had kept his stance square then Shawns legs would've hit his shoulders and stopped the rotation that he was in which would've made it next to impossible to land like Shawn did here.

6:30 I think the worst execution for the stunner was Linda McMahons, I remember this on Raw and you can clearly see she never even got hit by it and still try to sell it like she did. it would have been better if she actually just popped up I was like close but no cigar, you missed kind thing. I personally think as a Stone Cold Steve Austin fan that was the worst one in my opinion.

From what I've seen/watch/heard/saw, taker's usually very precaution and this was one such act. Watch it carefully and you'll see that there wasn't enough space for taker to land flat(if sold it as an RKO) thus selling the move as a neckbreaker.

4:15 Shawn Michaels sold that power bomb from Nash by landing on his feet because he had a bad back and this was right before he lost his smile. He taking a power bomb from 7 feet in the air would be insane with a bad back like he had. His feet broke the fall completely.

Stuntman & former pro-wrestler here. I think a lot of those sells are just people forgetting the bump. Like Rikishi’s legs went the wrong way on the Rock Bottom, so there wasn’t much he could do. With HBK and the jackknife, I’m guessing Shawn was trying to illustrate how Nash’s powerbomb doesn’t guide you down like others. He just kinda picked you up and let you go, and it was up to you to fall correctly.

In taker's defense on that RKO, if you look, he looked pretty close to the ropes, maybe he thought he'd have a bad landing if he fully extended for the sell, so, turned midair to prevent possible injury (?)

“Take” and “Took” is the word your looking for. “Selling” is the Reaction to the move. Rikishi simply hesitated, or wimped out, to taking the bump…. It happens.
@MountaindewM
@MountaindewM 2 жыл бұрын
There are times when no selling can be a good thing and can be added to the storyline. It could be a unclean finisher. Would add more depth to wrestling if sometimes they purposely hit the move but make sure they hit it a bit "softer" or in a way that makes it not appear to be done to full effect. This could allow it to be kicked out of and still ensure it keeps it's status as a finisher that means something. Now obviously some moves you can't do this with but there should be some where you can.

Correct me if I’m wrong… wasn’t Taker working with an injury in 2005? If so that’d explain why he took the bump more like a swinging neck breaker. Especially if it was his knee that was injured.
