If I was Matt Hardy there is no way in HELL I would’ve done the job to edge in our blow off match after he was the one who cheated with my girl and on his wife. Imo that was Matt Hardy’s biggest mistake. I always thought Matt was a better wrestler while Jeff was a better entertainer and both could’ve been world champions had they played their cards right. It’s kind of sad that Christian and Matt never had real world title runs but at least Christian had a little something but Matt got nothing and he deserved so much more.

Triple H did lose his King of the Ring push as a result of the Curtain Call, but people always seem to falsely connect that to him competing in a Hog Pen match with Henry Godwinn and jobbing to the Ultimate Warrior. Both of those things happened before the Curtain Call. He actually won the Hog Pen match, but got tossed into it afterwards, and him losing to Warrior was just Warrior being Warrior.

Another thing to add is both Jey and Jimmy weren't allowed in Canada due to their DUI's. Backstage Sami had mention to Roman wanting to do a bit with him and the bloodline right after last year WM to honestly just get more screen time. Then when it was in Canada with Roman and Drew with no Jimmy or Jey there which made the perfect opening for Sami to have a chance and we all know how afterward went.

They both showed up despite those DUI's but ultimately Sami still lost. I think that tag title match should main event Night 1 of this year's Mania, and Cody HAD BETTER beat Roman on Night 2, otherwise AEW will defeat, and then purchase, WWE in about 5-10 years.

@@wildethang93I'm talking about the last time they were in Canada before Solo move up to the main roster. There a interview Sami did right after Survivor series where he talks about wanting to work with Roman and that there wasn't ever a chance till that moment in Canada.

@@wildethang93 WWE is such a house hold name that their is no way AEW will beat it in ratings.The only reason why AEW has any possibility of buying WWE is because Mcmahon has made his intentions clear that he is thinking about selling it. Khan will still need a group of investors(including his father) because even with all of his assets he isn't even worth as much as what Mcmahon is asking for let alone does he have the liquid cash to buy it. Honestly, I doubt his father has the liquid cash to buy WWE without other investors since most of his valued money is the sports team he owns. Also, you're probably like one of just a few fans that want Cody to beat Roman. Most people feel like Cody ending Roman's reign is actually lackluster and a bad way to end that storyline. It should be someone with more history with Roman.

More things to add to the Roman/Sami history is that there were rumors (that if i dont remember wrong, were actually confirmed) Roman was meant to lose against Lesnar at Day 1. And who knows how much "the tribal chief" persona could have change without the universal title

I remember that, but I also remember hearing rumors that were later confirmed(by Dave Meltzer, so make of that what you will) that Seth was originally going to beat Roman at the Royal Rumble and dethrone him, but Vince really wanted Brock vs Roman at Wrestlemania, so that got nixed.

it was rumoured that Brock would have won Universal title ending Roman Reigns reign at 490 days at day 1 but look now it's 910 days and Seth was supposed to win WWE title at day 1 and big e was supposed to win rr 22 and wins WWE title at mania 38 and Brock vs Roman at mania 38 for just Universal belt and there Roman would win it again but that uv title Reign would have been just 329 days but instead Roman Reigns WWE title reign is 329 days and Universal one 910 days and made Roman more time as World champion than John Cena while Roman 6 World title Reigns and Cena 16 and also that just all happened because of Roman Reigns getting covid I think that was covid or some type of illness and look it benefited Roman Reigns wow what a butterfly effect. Another thought on the Medusa showing up on nitro with the wwf women's belt... Could that have been influenced by Ric flair taking the WCW title belt to wwf back in 1991?? Maybe bischoff would not have had that idea if Ric flair hadn't done it.

I’m pretty sure the original plan for day 1 was for Seth to win the WWE title, and Brock win the universal title. So just imagine if Roman hadn’t gotten covid, a great championship reign with great storylines would’ve been cut short.

If I was WWE I would have Sami help Cody by keeping the bloodline away from the title match and the Raw after mania have Sami introduce the new champion and celebrate with him and Cody goes up to a turnbuckle to celebrate with the fans raising the belt up in the air and Sami just gets this evil crooked smile and he attacks Cody with a chair (like he did Roman at the rumble) and leaves him laying and the next Raw he says ALL of this was his plan all along. He new he couldn’t beat Roman but if he could make the bloodline lose focus and start fighting each other he could help make someone champion he could beat. He may not be able to beat the head of the table but I can damn sure beat a plumbers grandson. And just like that you got the new top heel who hasn’t been beat into the ground for the last year. But wwe would never do that imo that’s too exciting lol

Ironic that Vince gleefully had Flair show up with the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in 1991 because Flair's possession of the belt due to Jim Herd not returning his deposit on it. Guess it's a one-way street there. Also something to point out about the Jarrett incident is it was deliberately orchestrated. Vince Russo booked Jarrett in such a way that his championship reign would run through to the night after his contract expired knowing that he held that leverage against WWF before leaving for WCW himself. So once the seeds were laid he played his hand with the demand for money and threat to no-show his final night in the company so the payoff was basically the only way out for WWF (since they obviously couldn't reprimand him after that night).

I disagree with the last one because brock dropped the belt to lashley at rumble after winning it at day 1. They could've kept it on lashley but lesnar won the belt again at chamber thus setting up the title unification match against roman at mania.

Eric Bischoff couldn’t be trusted, but heres the issue with the Medusa/Alundra Blaze butterfly effect. If you put Bret and Medusa next to one another, there is nothing even remotely tying them together. Medusa was pissed that Vince said “we’ll get talent for the Womans Division” and it never happened, and then let her contract expire. Instead of just releasing her with a handshake and farewells meanwhile taking the belt back at the same time, it was just lazy and lack of foresight or even just lack of care for the Womans belt that backfired on Vince and WWE ratings. Bret, up to that point in his career, had been multiple time WWE Champion, he had been in the business for 15+ years under the same banner, WWE, for all that time. Bret, I don’t think would have taken the belt to WCW and thrown it in a bin or worse. He has been given many opportunities to be a great Wrestler and Entertainer throughout his career, yeah sure his contract resigning wasn’t going smoothly at the time but he was also an aging superstar. I would like to believe that Bret wouldn’t bury the WWE championship because of his issues with Shawn Michaels. That’s a personal level, not a business one.

Jeff missing WM 24 definitely helped Punk rise to the top, even if that first title reign was unremarkable and he went down the card right after. He did manage to win the mitb again the next year. Maybe that would have been his year regardless, but i think that first win helped

It's the old "do it for my dead family member/friend" trope. Rey was always over but after Eddie's passing, he rode the momentum of carrying on the latter's legacy. If Eddie hadn't passed, we would've seen HBK/Guerrero and Rey would probably still be in the Cruiserweight title mix for WM22

The best solution I’ve seen for the wrestlemania 39 problem this year is to have a 2-fall triple threat match. First fall for the Universal Championship (Sami can pin Cody). Second fall for the WWE Championship (Cody pins Reigns). Everyone wins, Cody can stay on Raw, Sami can go to Smackdown. Reigns can take a break or something idk.

Roman Reigns COVID fiasco caused Lesnar to be inserted into the day 1 ppv and win the WWE championship which ultimately lead to roman becoming the Undisputed Champion at Mania 38. However, if you rewind 2 years prior, Roman Reigns refused to wrestle at Mania 36 out of fears of getting COVID leading to Strowman getting the championship. And this ultimately lead to Roman returning as a heel and winning the Universal championship. Roman was screwed out of and subsequently rewarded with 2 major championships as a direct result of COVID.

What about Shawn's losing his smiles? He was supposed to defend his titles against Bret Hart in WM XIII rematch. Had that happen we might not have seen arguably the greatest wrestling match in WWE and the greatest double turn in professional wrestling history... Stone Cold might not have been the top babyface should that match didn't oocur

I personally believe that Roman Reigns purposely faked his COVID-19 positive status because the initial plans were for Brock Lesnar to defeat Roman Reigns at Day 1. Roman Reigns wanted to extend his title reign even longer, so he made the excuse to Vince and he believed in Roman's words. That set up the plan for Roman Reigns to unify the Universal Championship and the WWE Championship. WWE could've easily had Roman Reigns wrestle both nights at Wrestlemania, defending one of his titles on each night. WWE could've had Kevin Owens challenge Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber at Montreal with Sami Zayn betraying Roman Reigns at the end of the match, the same way it happened in Royal Rumble '23. Then, that can set up Sami Zayn challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship, while Cody Rhodes challenges for the WWE Championship. But instead, we got what we got. I don't think Roman Reigns claiming he has COVID did anything to Cody Rhodes challenging for the Universal Championship. It's just WWE not wanting Sami Zayn to challenge Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania for one or both titles and instead keeping the championships unified.

Had Roman Reigns not missed out due to illness then Cody Rhodes would be WWE Champion and Zayn becomes the one to end Roman Reigns and The Bloodline. At one hand Cody Rhodes is facing Reigns at WrestleMania but on the other hand Zayn deserves another crack on Roman to dethrone him at WrestleMania. It's an interesting dilemma.

Sami/Roman's story is pure cinema. Rhodes is just the right person at the wrong time for the belt, and he is ruining this story. This story is meant for WrestleMania. Rhodes can win the title via Money in the Bank or another way.

Jarrett has always been a measly performer and never deserved his titles. He had to have his daddy make a company to force a title onto his waist that he never, ever earned, and was a crippling time for TNA, because no one took him as a main eventer.
